I wish the vocals by them didn't bother me, because I keep wanting to check them out because people keep talking about them. But when I did, the vocals weren't doing much for me.

Admittedly, Efrim Menuck's voice isn't the strong suit of their music. It's their lyrics and strong instrumentation that more than make up for this though - comparable with Modest Mouse and Isaac Brock's vocals, for instance.

ASMZ's best pure instrumental work is off their albums Born Into Trouble As The Sparks Fly Upwards and He Has Left Us Alone But Shafts of Light Sometimes Grace the Corners of Our Rooms. He only really sings on two songs on either album, both instant classics.

For Wanda by A Silver Mt. Zion.

Eh, I wish I could let lyrics make up for the lacking of good vocals, but I can't. Vocals alone can make or break a band for me. Mostly because I pay more attention to the vocals and instrumentation more so than I pay attention to lyrics, though I definitely like good lyrics.

Giles Corey-Morning Train

Eh, not really impressed. Feels like I stepped into the 70's or something, though.

Michael Mellender-In Tainted Plight

Someones "Bedroom songs" (That sounds wrong typed like that) that my dad decided to buy while at a concert because. The guy was just like "Oh, this is just some recordings I decided to make in my bedroom once" or something like that. Pretty solid for making stuff in your bedroom...
