Usually if a movie looks like shit, I kinda avoid watching it (For, you know, obvious reasons), so there isn't that many movies I have watched I consider to be truly horrific.

That being said, I'd have to say either Twilight: New Moon, which had terrible acting, the plot of Twilight, and some scenes that was just...I dunno, wrong. At least the first movie wasa tolerable. Or The Last Airbender, which me and my sister watched BECAUSE of how bad we heard it...Yeah, it was pretty bad, for countless reasons.

There was another one my mom and I watched that tried to be cool but ended up coming off as really stupid, but I don't remember what the name was.

The Host wasn't great but I didn't consider it to be as bad as the ratings it got, but I didn't exactly sing praise for it after watching it either....

I did, and I quite enjoyed that movie. But then again I like extremely odd movies, sooo...

According to my ratings from a general remembering of them (Why should I bother re-watching every single 200+ movie I've seen just to rate it EXACTLY what I feel about it?), I have The pacifier, Freaky Friday, The Last Airbender, Spiderman 3, Cheaper By the Dozen, and 2012 as all rated very lowly, but the lowest of them all is Twilight: New Moon, apparently.

Really? I think Avatar is overrated but The Last Airbender was terrible. At least the acting was decent in Avatar...And how the scenes were constructed...

I think what they mean is that the overall plot to the Avatar: Last Airbender was better than Avatar: The Blue Cat People from Space.

I watched, in it's hilarity and terribleness, The Man Who Saved the World. For those not familiar with it's title, it is also known as the Turkish Star Wars. Check it out, it's both extremely bad, and funny at the same time.

Gnomeo & Juliet. Watched that movie just to accompany my mother. We walked out after a few minutes.

Stormbreaker. Childish, bland and unimaginative. I read the book years ago and enjoyed it, but the film (and Alex Pettyfer's dismal acting) put it to shame.

Probably The Core with Aaron Eckhart and Hillary Swank. Terrible plot, with even worse special effects and acting.

most of the movies listed are popular, major releases....

Postby California Prime » Mon Jun 30, 2014 7:32 pm

For the people who list movies like Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Avatar, Titanic, Star Wars prequels, etc. You guys don't even know that bad movies truly are yet. There are movies out there that could gag a maggot.

A better group of candidates are: "Batman and Robin", "Superman part IV" or "Goodburger".

Batman and Robin is just awful. It is so bad in fact that allegedly the director's commentary largely consists of him continuously apologizing to the audience for his film. It was so bad that it stopped all film portrayals of Batman for years and killed the incarnation of the franchise that had started with Tim Burton's Batman movie. If you want a good idea how truly terrible this movie is, take a look at this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3M8FC7uZj3M
Superman IV was so terrible that it instantly elevated the awful Superman III to "decent movie" status in the minds of Superman fans. It starts off with superman acting out of character by forcing the world to do what he wants (get rid of all nukes), and it rapidly gets worse from there. You have a new super powered villain "nuclear man" who is some dumb blonde guy with retractable fingernails, you have normal humans being brought into space with no ill effects, and the most awful "fight" sequences, and the dumbest super villain death scene ever filmed. Oh, and it caused a halt to any further superman movies for almost 20 years.
Goodburger.....this can best be summed up as a nickelodeon skit that lasts about 20 times too long. It is supposed to be a comedy but there are virtually no laughs in this movie.

Pretty much the way I feel. Some of those are worthy of eyerolling, but they're flawed (or failing to live up to expectations), not awful. If you can honestly say the most recent Indiana Jones, Independence Day, or Titanic is the worst movie you've ever seen, you must not have seen many movies to begin with and I kind of envy you.

There are horrible, horrible abominations out there, ones that boggle the mind due to the sheer ineptitude of the writers, directors, producers, or maybe just everyone attached to the project. While some of these are arguably decent in one way or another, the majority of this list should never be seen by human eyes. While I find the movie Avatar to be a predictable piece of eye candy with few if any redeeming features, it is better than all but a handful of those.

As you yourself know, a lot of people don't watch the really bad films that they come across. This means that instead of truly awful films the one's people answer this question with are going to be just bad. And, to be honest, the likes of the fourth Indiana Jones film also have to deal with the disappointment of expectation (it's okay, I like the originals more).

Yeah. It just surprises me still to see some of the movies people put as "Worst". Not to say they're great, most of the ones I have read aren't, was still just surprised to have it be the "Worst". But like you said, they probably go "Oh god that looks awful" and never touch it, understandably.

I kind of liked the movie, myself. The inclusion of commies, aliens, and paranormal abilities may seem jarring to some, but that makes it a rather faithful take on Cold War fiction as compared to the nazis, cults and supernatural happenings of the original pulp-era-based trilogy. Probably won't see it ranked as the best of the bunch, but I find it just as good as Temple of Doom and Last Crusade. Then again, I also like Michael Bay as long as I'm not working for him.

I'm not quite sure. Probably either "Frozen" or "Equestria Girls." For the former, the singing's really not worthy of adoring fans, and the plot is fairly old-school. For the later, I would've just rigged the election. :p Hope that's not a spoiler.
