Regardless, I assume you finally conquered Slesvig and made it part of a STRONK Scandinavia?

Well, I made sure Denmark annexed it (the Danes of course being in my sphere) then before I could form Scandinavia they released it again. Luckily, they decided to annex Schleswig a few years later and completely release Holstein.... But apparently PDM has some weird Scandinavia-forming event chain so I haven't formed Scandinavia yet. I'm currently wrestling with the bear for Norway, I think I'll be able to form if I win this.

Ah, I see...... The only unification I ever tried was Germany, which is simply two decisions.

Yeah, it's easier. You have to research along the ideological tech tree (you know, Rev/Counter-Rev and that stuff) to choose decisions, which isn't very nice when you're trying to fight a land war against Russia.

And, for the moment, winning a land war against Russia.

Prussia declared war on me, literally a few months after I'd defeated Russia. For whatever reason, the Russians immediately wanted to ally.... I let them take the brunt of Prussia's forces, while I set myself up with a nice defensive position in Berlin, then watched as they white peaced and awaited the clash of the titans.

And titanic it was. Some of the Prussians fucked off halfway through, which I've never seen the AI do before, so it was a bit easier but I'm guessing I have a major tech advantage or something

Schweiz would be the standard german spelling, if that was what you headed for.

I just humiliated them, no more. The two armies I had in Germany had only just recovered from the Russian war and were once again all but shattered, while my newly trained recruits were stuck at Malmo due to a Prussian blockade of about a hundred and fifty ships. Prussia soon erupted into revolts and were pretty quick to accept humiliation after I took Hamburg.

I did that by creating a ’orthodox bloc’ and accidentally shot myself in the foot with it. I can’t expand westwards so I just said ’fuck it the Egypt is nice this time of the year isn’t it?"

Focus on your navy to block the Bosphorus and isolate the Ottoman army in Turkey.

Something's wrong with my ruler designer: the button with the scissors does not appear on the portrait (once the campaign has started), and when I design a ruler (before it starts), it will change it to something else when the game actually starts.

That's the Customizer DLC, which is a different one to the Ruler Designer, that enables that scissor button.
I remember that too, though don't know if there's any fix or solution to that.

Does somebody know what is the hardest place ever to start in Crusader Kings 2?

Once I had an eunuch (names Mun'is, I thought) in Galilee, 867 start and somewhere in Syria.
Sadly, you cannot play him anymore.
Pro: tolerance, individualism, technocratism, democratism, freedom, freedom of speech and moderate religious expression, the ban on hate speech, constitutional monarchism, the Rhine model
Against: intolerance, radicalism, strong discrimination, populism, fascism, nazism, communism, totalitarianism, authoritarianism, absolutarianism, fundamentalism, strong religious expression, strong nationalism, police states

If you like philosophy, then here you can see what your own philosophical alignements are.

Karen is supposedly hard. Semien (or whatever that jewish duchy in ethiopia was) also has a bit of a reputation is being hard.
But I doubt that either of those is the hardest.

There's one guy who's Catholic/Norman and has one county in Antolia, between the Byz and Seljuks. I believe around 1080ish. He's one of the most difficult.

There's also the Nestorian Christian on Socarta in Arabia in 867 who's surrounded by heathens/heretics and is the only Nestorian ruler in the game, IIRC.

Ouch, that really sounds hard indeed. Especially because you have a low chance to offer to become a vassal.

Yeah, that guy. The Nestorian is much harder though.

Also, any ideas how to play Hansa in EUIV, since Denmark's invaded N.Germany rather successfully so I'm a few little grey enclaves with one ally in the form of Polska.
