Invite him to your court; visiting New England tends to do that type of thing to people.

Unfortunately, he is unwilling to come to my court. Presumably it's something to do with the fact that he's planning to usurp my throne.

Wait, you have tanistry? I seem to have started out with Open, which I find quite useful, as I can more or less freely choose heirs.

PDM has a royal wedding event thing where you can either choose to marry them to one of your own nobility or another country's nobility which gives you a 50 relationship bonus to that country. Anyway my Reactionary policies have led to a 13 million strong sepoy rebellion http://i.imgur.com/9kSWD7i.jpg so... good bye India?

Ah, that one. I remember having had that event once in a few games, I think.
Also, bloody hell, those Sepoys. Unless you, ASAP, move troops from all over the empire there and crush them we'll see you banished from India. Which may lead to somebody like Japan taking it over.

Yeah every soldier in my army was outnumbered 5 to one... I think I did the right thing just letting it go, maybe some day the British will reclaim India but it's not going to be this day.

If only Vic 2 allowed that decision, I'd buy up ever soldier of fortune between London and the bay of Bengal, but alas the era of mercenaries is gone

Gone? Just promise to a few poor people today that you are willing to give them a few thousands worth of money, if they fight for your nation, and see what happens.

It still happens IRL. The era of mercenary OP-iness never has fallen since Venice grew to power!

Where must we go, we who wander this wasteland, in search for our better selves?
In Egypt's sandy silence, all alone,
Stands a gigantic Leg, which far off throws
The only shadow that the Desert knows:—
"I am great OZYMANDIAS," saith the stone,
"The King of Kings; this mighty City shows
"The wonders of my hand." The City's gone,
Nought but the Leg remaining to disclose
The site of this forgotten Babylon.

We wonder, and some Hunter may express
Wonder like ours, when thro' the wilderness
Where London stood, holding the Wolf in chace,
He meets some fragment huge, and stops to guess
What powerful but unrecorded race
Once dwelt in that annihilated place.
