Good point. Can anyone explain to me the point of the Panther 88 Tier VIII Medium prem tank?

It's meant to be a Panther upgunned to the 88 L/71. But that's just what top-spec Panther II is, which is also a Tier VIII medium.
The Panther 88 and Panther II hulls even look near-enough identical, to the point I can't tell the two apart save for the name atop them.

The internet connection in my house is seriously trash. It was worse when my dad, technophobe that he is, had essentially two routers running off the same modem because "this is what I've always used", but I still get a completely connection drop that takes the network offline for about 20 seconds once every couple days.

And the tank stops responding to commands, and the game pauses, and then I get kicked, and it takes a minute to get back into the game and unless I'm absurdly lucky, I'm invariably 200m from when I left myself, halfway up a mountain, and fucking dead.

If you could name your warships in World of Warships, what would it be? Me? I would name my warships after fictional characters I'm fond of (for example, I could name a Zao-class cruiser after Rhaegar Targaryen) or after sci-fi weapons .

After a ship of the class. Iowa would be New Jersey (closest one to me), Fletcher would be Johnston, Baltimore would probably be Canberra, Belfast instead of Edinburgh etc.

Its like like the old tier 6 KV1S, but up tiered. It looks kinda fun though...so quick. I don't really need it but...guess I have week or so to decide since it will be up for sale (just the tank) starting tomorrow for a while.

God. Fletcher makes me giddy. The torps are just silly. After being so used to IJN torps, the Fletcher torps feel like cheating. But all the dakka... mmmm, the sweet sweet dakka, completes the package.

In more ways than one.

My favorite Fletcher match was about 160k damage, couple of torp hits, 3 caps/assists etc.

And i took no damage until the very end lol.

So much dakka, and the 9.6km detectability when firing is just right so that you can actually hit something with those rainbows.

Only on the upgraded turret, I'm pretty sure it was running the stock turret from Cromwell. Think I hit somewhere between the UFP and turret ring, anyway.

So on WoTbox, the package system is confusing me again.

The two top guns; 128mm L/61 and 150mm L/38; are in two separate, identical-costing packages. They both contain the top spec for the vehicle.
I'm positive I don't have the L/61 or L/38 on other German tanks, so are these just two identical-cost guns?
Thinking I should go for the L/61 first, just going to be a little miffed if I then have more grind for the L/38.

tfw you spawn on a side you never normally play so decide to hold down that side, but the entire team lemmings into the traditional killzones and leaves you to fend for yourself at close range against a Motherland and Obj416 in a Ferdinand.

Had I not ammo-racked the Motherland by sheer luck, I'd have died about three minutes earlier than I did. When everyone gets over, sees that I've killed what was coming after me (after losing 85% of my health) and clearly figures what I ask them in the chat doesn't matter, then doesn't pay attention to me when I say "I have 95hp left and there is a fucking KV-3 right here that none of you have apparently fucking noticed"

tfw someone on your team does 7000 damage as last man standing against their last man standing, and you wonder how the piss he stayed alive that long, got 5 kills and indeed dealt 7000 damage when him trying to take on a Type 4 is just painful to watch.

Platoon of 3 VK45.02Bs taking on a platoon of another 45.02 and a Type 4 Heavy, and an AMX 13 75 for measure. They're just sat there trading fire. Eventually the 75 dies. One of our 45s dies. Their 45 dies. It's two 45s versus a Type 4.

One 45 goes for a flank attack. He's chased down and killed (including being knocked down to 5hp, then 1 hp, before being killed). Somehow fails to realise there are parts of a Type 4 that aren't its front to shoot at, and that its tracks exist.
Then the remaining 45 goes in. And does the same thin. Never for the tracks, never into its sides when it's corner peeking, never tries to use mobility advantage (?) to nip to its side, outturn its turret, and put rounds into its side.

Yeah, nah fam. I was trying to outflank the group, but it was west-centre of the map and I don't know the terrain in that area, couldn't find a route. Most of our team, as always, lemming'd down the valley flank and didn't make it back either.

WT IV has decent armour for its tier and its health pool is fairly large. Trade shots with the underpowered Russian heavies and you'd have been fine. Angle your armour

Waffentraktors have like 10-30mm armour max and can take 3-and-a-bit shots. They don't have gun depression and mobility, except forwards, leaves much to be desired.
