We can probably assume that the nation is off the coast of Germany, or located on the Elbe, so this leaves us with more than half a dozen possibilities. It is also an imaginary country, so we can't be sure where it is.

-Elsa is a powerful mage with a strong love of ice magic (ice bolts, the ice monster is nearly identical to Frost Antronachs, the snowmen could be her Familiars)
-The trolls look like Imps...

Oh what am I doing. It was a good movie. It will be remembered as a Disney Classic but not a Classic in general. While some Disney movies have obvious social critiques in them, this is not one of them.

PS: I think it would have been based more on either The Holy Roman Empire or Prussia. There were so many "German States" during that time, Germany was more of an idea than anything.
