Frozen isn't based off history. It's based off a story by Hans Christian Anderson called Snow Queen. They've planning it since Little Mermaid. Its a story. It would be like saying Mulan is supposed to actually represent ancient Qing Dynasty China. Disney likes using actual locations so any specifics concerning vocabulary (Fjords) or architecture is purely to show the setting they want to show. If Aladdin had European style homes or if Pocahontas had sky rises instead of Native American villages, it wouldn't be very fun to watch.

Frozen was literally nothing special, and there were major plot holes and just illogical sequences of events.

Hell, tangled was better. If only because Mother Gothel was a badass.

The only thing special about this movie was that it moved away from the stereotypical princess model (somewhat)

How is China more interesting than Europe?

Geopolitical setting has nothing to do with it (although this being entirely a matter of opinion, I'm sure there are plenty of people who find ancient China more interesting than 19th century Europe).

Mulan featured a much better and less stereotypical female protagonist, and had more action, drama, suspense, and emotion than Frozen could ever hope to give it's audiences.

Mulan also had far superior songs.
