Good then, because I support him

It would also be a completely anti-climactic end to his story.

Jaime i think is destined to have at least one more major scene with Cersei, in fact i think he will be the one to kill her.

Am I the only one who would rather it went down some other way (assuming she had to die)?

Eh I would rather it went another way, but I also know that’s the kind of sadistic irony Martin enjoys

Who says I want it to happen at all?

in all seriousness I’d prefer she go out like the Tarleys. Defiant to the end.

Maybe it’s just the vet in me, but I I could have watched an entire episode that was just all them hanging out by the fire.

Fingers crossed the DVD special edition has an extended "Let's drink the last of the wine before we all die" scene.

For some reason, when Jon told Daenerys his true heritage, I got the sense that Daenerys was going to die at Winterfell, never marching south to take the throne. Not sure why.

I think it might parallel what happened to Baelish. Baelish "saved" Winterfell with the Vale Knights and then he gets killed by the Starks in a kangaroo court.

Danny "saved" Winterfell by bringing the Dothrakis, the Unsullied, and the Dragons.

However, saving Winterfell generally isn't very well repaid.

She does still need to be betrayed one more time, as prophesied by the . . . I don't remember what they're called . . . the Blue Man Group, right?

Brienne getting knighted made me happy, good for her.

Daenerys took Jon's admission about his parentage just as i thought, she was not happy.

Fire side conversation scene was great, really liked it.

Overall it was a good episode, but again nothing much happened other than more preparation, excited for the next episode though

Apparently they think it can.

Wish it was a full season though, same with season 7

Just finished it.

It was alright. It was a filler episode, I think. Tugged at my heartstrings a bit there at the end with Brienne being knighted, and it did move the story a bit more forward (like, a few hours?). I love the Mormont reunion. Badass goodgirl Lyanna Mormont being an idiot by refusing to not participate in the battle is well-earned.

Minor prediction, whatever the outcome of this battle - win or lose, probably lose - there's going to be an even bigger one. Either they win and then have a large man-to-man battle with Cersei, or they lose and they either team up with Cersei after she's murdered or is convinced to finally side with the living, or it's an epic three-way battle between the Dead vs. the Stark-Targaryen alliance vs. the Lannisters and whoever they're with. Honestly doesn't make sense to me that the epic grand battle would be this early in the season, which is why I checked the Wiki page for season 8 and found that Miguel Sapochnik of Hardhome and Battle of the Bastards fame is going to be directing another episode, which is what's leading me to believe that there's going to be an even bigger battle later in the season in the second episode that he directs (that one battle that they so lovingly advertised as having been filmed for 55 days).

I could of course be wrong. But I expect a lot of people will die come next episode. Off the top of my head, Theon, Bran, Beric Dondarion, Edd, and Brienne. I say Brienne only because she got this big cathartic feel-good moment and I can't help but feel like this is going to be taken away from us soon.

Pretty funny that Sansa and Danaerys were friends for, like, five seconds.

Preview for episode 3

Theory that i saw on reddit, Dany says the dead are already here.

What if the undead have gotten into the crypts, or the night king is able to resurrect the skeletal remains of the dead starks and used them to attack from the rear?
