It was alright. It was a filler episode, I think. Tugged at my heartstrings a bit there at the end with Brienne being knighted, and it did move the story a bit more forward (like, a few hours?). I love the Mormont reunion. Badass goodgirl Lyanna Mormont being an idiot by refusing to not participate in the battle is well-earned.
Minor prediction, whatever the outcome of this battle - win or lose, probably lose - there's going to be an even bigger one. Either they win and then have a large man-to-man battle with Cersei, or they lose and they either team up with Cersei after she's murdered or is convinced to finally side with the living, or it's an epic three-way battle between the Dead vs. the Stark-Targaryen alliance vs. the Lannisters and whoever they're with. Honestly doesn't make sense to me that the epic grand battle would be this early in the season, which is why I checked the Wiki page for season 8 and found that Miguel Sapochnik of Hardhome and Battle of the Bastards fame is going to be directing another episode, which is what's leading me to believe that there's going to be an even bigger battle later in the season in the second episode that he directs (that one battle that they so lovingly advertised as having been filmed for 55 days).
I could of course be wrong. But I expect a lot of people will die come next episode. Off the top of my head, Theon, Bran, Beric Dondarion, Edd, and Brienne. I say Brienne only because she got this big cathartic feel-good moment and I can't help but feel like this is going to be taken away from us soon.
