Couldn't the plural of the family maybe be Lannistari?
(Thinking of Grimaldi, Morosini, Contarini,Foscari...) Or I might just have a limited memory/knowledge of Italian nobility.

I don't remember any knights getting pissed and decapitating their horse.

An excellent example of why allowing unrestricted immigration of people with a very different culture might not be the best idea ever :P

There are potentially some other motives for his work but for the most part his work has been aimed at returning a Targaryen to the throne, so destabilising the realm as best he can and making sure they are at each others throats in Kings Landing to keep them off balance.

I also think, he thinKS daynaras is the best qualified to rule. He has always claimed to serve the realm.

Yeah, thats what he says his overall goals are is to serve the realm, and the best way he can accomplish that in his eyes is to get them back in charge.
Because the Lannisters have been terrible in charge, Robert was a drunk who did not care, and though Stannis is just Varys knows he would kill a fuck ton of people when he got into power trying to weed out the enemies of his house and the ones who made the realm suffer, which in turn would not make him a lot of allies and could full well lead to another civil war.
So for him, Dany is the best option, especially since she has been gaining a lot of support in the east with trying to crackdown on Slavers Bay, so with the right advice and council she could potentially rally alot of the kingdoms to her side, and some houses are still loyal to them in secret.

The Game of Thrones theme turned into a spaghetti western soundtrack.

Yeah, i think their main concern is not being butchered by their lord, so they probably would not care unless she started doing that.

I would definitely support Stannis in such a battle.
I don't like Daenerys.

He only joined because he put his family first. He could potentially recognise Dany's claim as stronger and bend the knee to her. Of that probably wont happen, but it's my hope of the Mannis staying alive.
