Well unless someone in westeros creates a time travel device and travels to the red wedding with a machine gun he is going to remain dead.

Just imagine how random and epic that would be though... so many dead freys... glorious.

Of course it will happen, when Melisandre becomes convinced that Littlefinger is the Azor Ahai instead of Stannis. *nods*
Of course, Robb's survival will only be a side effect of him rescuing Catelyn.

That isn't the case at all. Despite all of it, one of the few things Joffrey ever wanted was to please his father. He was also one of the few people he ever admired, as his conversation with Tywin suggested.

Yep. I'll never be the last one to attack Joffrey, but he was convinced of his Baratheonhood and of his claim to the throne.

Oh, that'd be nice. Littlefinger having contacts in time and space turning back the RW.

I'd pay to see that happen. Through some force of the Old Gods (Old Gods = Best Gods) the whole Butchery of the RW is removed and all who died re-appear on the east/north bank of the (Red?) Fork.
It'd be gloriously epic.

I hope GRRM will try to explain Drowned God/Storm God religion origin. From book it doesn't sounds like something they made on Iron Islands, it seems more like true religion of First Men before they replaced it by Old Gods worshipped by Children of the Forest - fits for so isolated stubborn people, which even assimilated Andal invaders soon.
Perhaps all First Men previously worshipped R'hllor (there is same dualism between 'good' god who gave land to the people and 'evil' god who fights second one), and ironmen simply changed some 'details' to fit it better into their raiding lives (conflict Fire x Ice replaced by Sea x Sky).

"Those who reached my boundary, their seed is not; their hearts and their souls are finished forever and ever. As for those who had assembled before them on the sea, the full flame was their front before the harbour mouths, and a wall of metal upon the shore surrounded them. They were dragged, overturned, and laid low upon the beach; slain and made heaps from stern to bow of their galleys, while all their things were cast upon the water." - Ramesses III., Battle of the Delta

When Davos is in the sistertons, the few snatches of their religion we see seem to suggest a common origin with the faith of the drowned god. That, and the fact that the sistertons are explicitly described as still being first men- much as the ironmen are described as preserving the first men culture- would seem to suggest it being a development of the original faith of the first men.

I'd never thought of the R'hllor similarities angle, but the more I do the more sense it makes. Both involve
human sacrifice
as a regular part of worship, which seems rare for A Song of Ice and Fire religions.
So does the faith on the sistertons.

My argument isn't about whether the god is real, it's about whether his priests would be good for Westeros. They wouldn't. Besides, while R'hllor(?) does grant miracles, we don't know where the real miracles end and the false ones begin, not to mention the conflicting interpretations of his teachings (there was definite tension between Stannis/Melisandre and the Band without Banners).

They can tell death itself to fuck off

bringing back the dead.

Can Melisandre and her lackeys
bring back the dead
, though? We only see it from the Band without Banners, who (again) Stannis' forces were suspicious of.

It seems to be something of the Red Priests, given that Thoros does it and claims it to be an act of R'hllor, so I'd assume that she can.

Somewhere I saw that R'hllor's priest each focus on different things, with Thoros being in the "School" of Death and that kinda stuff, while Melisandre, well, isn't. Though I don't know how stable that claim is.
