If you went to the most remote anglosphere backwood town (where tv is still a thing) and asked some farmer: “Game of Thrones. Who is the queen?”
They’ll reply in understandable English: “Cersei. Cersei Lannister right?”
One season of bad writing doesn’t erase 6-7 (or was it 5) seasons of glory. In the minds of most, I think when they hear Queen of Westeros, they default to Cersei.
Now that’s branding, social currency. To lose a war and still be associated with being Queen.
Sometimes it’s really not about whether you won or lost, HOW you lost matters too. Danny’s 1 and a half episode long coup just never seemed all that compelling or lasting and neither did the ending. You can’t erase the previous seasons of glory.
I mean Danny never even sat on the thing.

Thoughts? Im intrigued personally. I know the last season of game of thrones was crap but there is a chance this series could be good and ill start a new poll to gauge peoples thoughts on the matter.

I've heard this show will have 17 dragons, which I'm sure will solve all the fast travel problems nicely.

Well based on the war this series seems to be based on most of them will by dying and they will have to lugg it around on foot for the next few centuries until teleporters are invented by Euron Greyjoy.

Turns out Daemon Targaryen had a magical device that allowed him to travel through time and relative dimensions in space, and this device was rediscovered by Euron.
Guess we will have to wait and see honestly, the show will have one hell of a mountain to climb to draw folks back in.Tarsonis wrote:I think it's going to flop. People haven't forgotten the massive pile of shit that was the finale of the core series. It was so bad, GoT was completely erased from the zeitgeist. Memes, fanclubs, discussion boards, all gone. They're not gonna watch a spinoff and risk the same letdown.

Still, hopefully these ones turn out to be good. I'd be glad for the world to be continued in a satisfactory way. Just don't let the original people touch the series anymore.

The showrunners for this series are Ryan Condal who has only done a few screenplays but was chosen by Martin iirc for this project and Miguel Sapochnik who did a number of episodes for Game of Thrones including: Hardhome, The Battle of the Bastards, The Long Night, The Bells and a few others. He won two directing awards for Battle of the Bastards last i checked.
Benioff and Weiss have nothing to do with this series i believe.

D&D have little to so with anything these days. They're colossal failure was so toxic that they lost their star wars gig, half their projects have stalled, and the ones that are still underway they're only attached in name only.
Nobody will trust them to manage a major franchise again, and I say good riddance.

Yeah that's good. Its hilarious they decided to rush Game of Thrones for fucking Star Wars than lost that gig anyway.

Considering what GOT had the potential to be and already was, why would you gamble on Star Wars?
