I just got the disk version of Xbox. I made it to the nether and a ghast almost blew up my portal. :eek:

Well, the obsidian won't blow up, but they can take out the portal itself, as such I recommend always carrying a flint and steel with you to light the portal up. It also can help to build a structure around the portal once there, stone will withstand ghast attacks as well.

I didn't know that, I thought they blew up the obsidian. Thanks, that's good to know!

Yeah, they can put a crater around it as they will destroy netherrack blocks. But stone and obsidian is fine. I usually build a stone strugure around my portal on the netherside with a steel door..... avoid flammable materials like wood; even doors, buttons and pressure plates.
