Not... Really?

The Hutts are strictly divided into many huge clans that then confer into a council that then makes decisions for all Hutts based on the clan leadership's respect reaching down to their subordinates, which... Isn't always a guarantee; lots of usurpation of clan leaders and civil wars as a result. It's more of a tribal federation. I would say they're also a kleptocracy, but not all Hutts are criminals, nor do they condone criminals, but a lot of them do.

I'd like to see various littler factions rather than one or two powerful factions again in the new films.

But sadly, it looks like they're going for a rehash of the Rebels/Republic vs the Empire.
"Our progress in degeneracy appears to me to be pretty rapid. As a nation, we began by declaring that "all men are created equal." We now practically read it "all men are created equal, except negroes" When the Know-Nothings get control, it will read "all men are created equal, except negroes, and foreigners, and Catholics." When it comes to this I should prefer emigrating to some country where they make no pretence of loving liberty -- to Russia, for instance, where despotism can be taken pure, and without the base alloy of hypocracy." - President Abraham Lincoln.

They're not using EU stories which I find interesting and a little scary. This could be absolutely brilliant or really really bad...

Oh no, they're a nation, make no mistake, just not an empire in the traditional sense.

From what I've seen it looks like they're repeating a mistake the EU made by having the Empire be villains again. To me that seems like rehashing the OT and undermining the OT's optimistic end. It makes me worried that they're more interested in doing an homage to the OT than making films that are good in their own right.

I'd rather the Empire was gone and the enemy was something new.

Hmm. I'd be ok if there were remnants if the Empire like in the Thrawn trilogy that they were fighting against but I honestly have no idea what they plan to do in regard to 7.

Whatever rattles your lightsaber, hammerhead.

Am I the only one that kinda likes the whole premise of the Hutts?

Pragmatists who look out for their own interests. A very realistic Chaotic Neutral.

Makes the prospect of writing a human who loves and admires an outcast Hutt to the point of adopting Hutt cultural sensibilities paradoxically all the more interesting.

Wasn't there stuff leaked or released showing a new type of stormtrooper or something like it?

But we don't know all the details yet.

I wouldn't mind having some little neo-Imperial regime or fragment of the Empire somewhere, but it shouldn't be the main enemy.

Seriously, what the fuck happened to the rise of the Sith again en-masse?

I want to see a bunch of stupid acolytes accidentally chop their arms off with their lightsabers they don't really know how to use.

A human in love with a Hutt? I'm not a fan of judging people by looks but yuk. Unless its non-sexual love.

It isn't. Enjoy that image. :D

Besides, this Hutt is the antithesis of a Hutt, so he's actually a very clean and compassionate Hutt despised by any self-respecting Hutt.

He is smaller than most Hutts, yes, and is considerably less slimy.

So, he's the worst Hutt to have ever been born. And the best Hutt.

As a follow-up to my recent posts about villains and factions, I'm wondering who others would like to be the main villains of the new trilogy.

I'd like an off-shoot of the Jedi or Republic that becomes extremist in an ends-justify-the-means-way and perhaps a more thorough and serious take on the evil corporation thing the Neimoideans were doing.

Eh, that's kinda cliche.

... Droid uprising. C'mon. You all have to admit that's awesome and the organics have had it coming.

Droid planet scenario. The new Star Wars movie becomes a horror movie a la System Shock 2.

The problem is that their kind of has to be a Dark Side threat and I was under the impression droids couldn't use the Force.

But you could merge our ideas. Evil corporation creates droids. Droids rebel. Jedi/Republic turn to extreme measures to win.

Cyborgs... That can use the Force.

Oh, wait, that's what Darth Vader was. XD

The horror would come from the fact the Force doesn't apply to droids.

Despite being badass Jedi Knights, they get cut down by sheer numbers and the fact droids are unfeeling, unresting machines that could potentially thrive off of man screams.
