It's fine.

Not trilogy caliber, but certainly undeserving of its horrible reputation.

Not to mention they made Darth Maul into a nothing character.

Darth Maul, a Sith so powerful he took on two Jedi and managed to kill one and almost kill the other.

Maul is awesome in the EU.

This.

I honesty wish Maul came back in Attack of the Clones, i always thought he was an awesome bad guy.

Especially in that comic where he takes on Darth Vader, that was an awesome battle.

That was interesting. It showed the gap in skill and power of pre ANH Vader to ESB and RotJ Vader. Apparently Vader was still getting used to his suits functions by that point and by RotJ he had mastered it along with the Dark Side.

I'm not sure if this is the right place, but as it should have a large collection of star wars fans.....

My region has several star wars based nations and the flagship question was raised recently, so I looked into it and....
Darth Vaders ship, the executor is listed on the wiki page as 19KM long and costing 1.43 billion credits. How?
Considering the USN is spending $3 billion on its new "fishing boat" how can something so massive cost so little and yet have the credit at a value where you can buy food or fuel?

Credits =/= dollars.

The exchange rate would be something like 1,000,000 USD = 1 Credit.

It still has the same discrepancy, how does one buy small things if one credit gets you almost 1.5 billionth of a super star cruiser?

With today's technology, the US government estimated it would require around 8 trillion dollars to develop a functioning Death Star.

The Executor is tiny compared to the Death Star. Not to mention it would be quite a bit cheaper with their technology.

Divide 19,000 meters by 1.143 billion.

The experience of having found Jar Jar Binks hilarious and one of the best parts about Phantom Menace as a child and then growing up to have this nostalgic character torn apart and thrown to the side by the masses was probably the worst part of growing up.

Especially because I can't even defend young me. Phantom Menace gets more hate than it deserves, but that's not the case with Jar Jar.

8 trillion is a huge amount of anything but I still think that's a pretty optimistic number. Maybe for a life size replica but I mean, why build it if it can't blow up Alderaan?

Also, does anyone have any comment on that phinieus and fherb Star Wars cartoon being released by Disney? Wishing Lucas had never sold the rights, or are you just point blank denying it's existence? (Every franchise gets one)

I think Star Wars is the best sci-fi/fantasy universe compared to other similar sci-fi/fantasy universes (Stargate, Babylon 5, Star Trek, Firefly, etc.) It combines the massive scope and depth of Star Trek with the grittiness and realistic lack of polish of Firefly.

I've watched all of the movies and played quite a few of the video games, and that's about the extent of my knowledge on the series. I do read the Wookiepedia quite a lot, so I've picked up some knowledge on the Extended Universe, and I used to play the Star Wars RPG until I lost all of my books during Hurricane Georges. Never read the comics. I cosplayed once when I was a kid as Luke Skywalker along with quite a few of my classmates on vacation in Florida to MGM Studios... I think it was the time they opened the Padawan thing outside of Star Tours, and many times as Han Fucking Solo, on Halloween, on Gay Days at Disney. I still have a Wookie suit in my closet so that my sister, who's sort of taller than me, can wear it.

... And I have a bootleg copy of the Holiday Special...

How many OTHER Star Wars fans are there in this bitch? What's your favourite movie? Favourite era? Favourite medium?

For me I like the Rise of The Empire and Ancient Sith Eras. I like Empire Strikes Back(which is rated to be the best Star Wars Movie)

Remember, you only get one and there are three new movies coming out. Made by Disney. Good luck

The 3 new movies are going to ruin the franchise no matter if they're better then the original trilogy. The reason being that 6 movies still allows Star Wars to be a classic franchise. 9 makes it a sequel slutt.

It won't. They're making them off completely original ideas and are going to have the Inquisitors take over the remnants of the Empire and be the baddies in the new trilogy.

This is incorrect. The actual cost is 8.1 quadrillion dollars, not 8 trillion dollars. There is a difference between the two. 8.1 quadrillion dollars is 13,000 times the GDP of the entire planet. It would also take over 800,000 years to build.
