Just wait until he remasters episode 7.
The CGI lens flares will overwhelm you.

The upcoming Jedi will use the lightsaber glare as a disarmament technique. The creator and tutor of this technique will be no other than JJ Bothans who will die at the end of the movie.

It's not really bad.
But, it becomes hilarious when you pay attention to it.

Introducing the obligatory tentacle monster for each new star wars film. TFA had those, Rogue One had the mind reading jellyfish. Can't wait to see what TLJ's tentacle monster will be.

Because that scene has the 2 actors/martial artists from the movie The Raid Redemption. Abrams likes that movie a lot and he wanted to include its cast in his future works, but in the end all he did is give them pointless cameos.

Lens flares were pretty ubiquitous back in the Eighties. Younger folks don't remember them (as much), so instead of providing a touchstone to earlier films, it's an entirely novel trend for them.

Thoughts?

Honestly, I'd never thought about this, but it is quite interesting and it makes sense that the Death Star's equatorial ring is not where the trench run took place.

I remember this being brought up on the Star Wars Reddit page fairly recently.
I mean. I don't think I ever stopped to consider where the trench on the Death Star actually was, but it's fairly conclusive just looking at the attack plan breifing when it zooms in on the trench that it's running up to down.
Only way I can really think that you'd think otherwise is if
A) You haven't seen it in a while (the brain, as a rule, tends to be pretty shit at remembering things and makes up a lot of stuff if it seems reasonable).
B) You weren't paying attention.

Couple of interesting gifs I pulled from the FXRant blog post.

It's noted that R2's plans have the dish on the equator.

Here's the blog for the explaination. It's an interesting read, even if it, along with several other places, assumes (incorrectly imo) that the majority of Star Wars fans assume the trench was on the equator.
