Obi-Wan Kenobi is the Jean-Luc Picard of space.

He's an ambassador, a scholar, and a stone-cold pimp.

The last one you described Obi Wan as was spot on.

Alright so back to the debate over Dooku vs Windu nobody would like to contest me that Dooku would win in an all out battle?

Actually, didn't Obi-Wan act as a diplomat on a few occasions? And he's a Jedi, so he has to have done research for something. I forgot soldier, too, since he operated in that capacity for the Republic.

I think it's sad Windu ended up being such a disposable character... And played by Sam Jackson, of all goddamn people. And Dooku, however bad ass Christopher Lee played him, was nothing more than a patsy.

I really don't see the point in comparing them since they both fulfilled differing roles in the canon.

But we're not comparing them as characters just in Lightsaber combat and force powers.

Ah, then I think Windu's laser and magic cock was the biggerest and harderest.

When has Windu shown force powers on par with Dooku's?

I don't know... And I don't think anyone should care.

Why should anyone care?

Star Wars needs to be made into an animation.

No, not the shitty 3D animation we've been seeing.

Japanese animation.

Have you ever seen the original clone wars series?

That series was horrible. So was the art.

It was written by Lucas the same time he was making the prequels.

The animation was not done by a reputable Japanese studio.

The art style was very westernized, and while this is not inherently a bad quality the art style was really shitty.

I thought it was actually pretty damn good along with its storyline. I guess it's just different tastes.

It was entertaining.

Just not good enough.

I'm not looking for a retelling of the clone wars, with a slight twist.

I want an original plot. Some Old Republic or EU stuff. Or just shit going on in another part of the galaxy during the Imperial timeline or Rise of the Empire.

Get Production IG, Kyoto Animation or Madhouse to do all the animation. Hire the best writers you can.

Of course, now that Disney's got SW that will never happen :p

It wasn't really a retelling given that their hadn't been an animated series about it before that point but I see your point about wanting different eras. I'd love an animated series focusing on the events that took place in KotOR.

It won't happen, no way in hell, but I believe they should have just done Heir to the Empire as the next three Star Wars moves

You mean the Dark Empire series? Yes that would have been my top choice for the new trilogy. That or the Thrawn series. As is they've chosen to create a completely original story which is sort of a shame given all the EU material they could have pulled from.

No I didn't mean Dark Empire.

Heir to the Empire is the first book in the Thrawn Trilogy, and what I've always heard that series referred to as.

Sorry I must have gotten them confused. So much Extended Universe... Then yeah that would be my second choice with the Dark Empire storyline being my top choice. You have to admit seeing Palpatine make hyperspace wormholes would be awesome. :D

The reason there are some Star Wars animation series going on, such as Star Wars Rebels at a time when action cartoons are in a slump, is because Star Wars is connected to a massive toy line and merchandise empire.

New original action cartoons, are a very tough sell in the current media climate while Star Wars and DC properties are probably safe bets going forward.

And the fact that Disney needs fillers to make cash and raise excitement along with the fact they have channels that they need shows for.
