In Debian, I have F12 mapped to a game-like "developer console" which drops down from the top of the screen and functions as a terminal emulator.

Right, so now the 390X and 380X are going to be the two most innovative cards this decade.

It most likely will be. It'll probably be just like 8.1 when it was available to download on the store.

The "W8 Tiles" in the start menu that we all saw in the screenshot?

Easily removed just by right clicking and hit "remove".

The actual start menu doesn't have any transparency but I don't even care.

Also.
"Search" and "Desktops" are permanently pinned to the taskbar. Desktops is fine there, but Search? Really? It's a minor inconvenience, but still.
EDIT: Search wasn't even removed from the start menu. It's still there, just like in Windows 7. But...well now it's in the taskbar too.

EDIT2: Start Menu Search searches local files, Taskbar Search is just Bing.
Really sucks that you can't remove that.

A lot of the elements seem, honestly, left over from 7 or 8.
Most of the icons are unchanged from Windows 7. Other than added transparency, the UI (in the desktop) looks just like 8's.
This isn't really a bad thing, but it's...well...idk.

EDIT: Okay, I'm now positive that the transparency effect is only in the taskbar. None of the windows have it.

EDIT2: I got Chrome up and running and am now posting fully from Windows 10. Gonna check out the command prompt next.

EDIT3: Command prompt hasn't changed, but it's now accompanied by a program called "PowerShell". Other than the color I'm not sure what's changed. I'm probably just gonna reinstall ConEmu when this goes into public release, tho.

EDIT4: It seems like Powershell has built in scripting support. Interesting. Might be useful.

Anyway, Windows 10 seems to have both a W8-style "options menu" and a W7-style "Control Panel". I like it.

EDIT5: Task manager now has two forms, "collapsed" and "extended".
"Collapsed" is basically just the application list.
"Extended" is the full W7-style task manager, with running processes, services, performance info, etc.

EDIT6: Lol, even though msconfig's options are now integrated into Task Manager you can still open up msconfig and change stuff.

EDIT7: Desktops are okay. It's a Cinnamon-style system and not a Gnome-style system, which means that potential usage is higher but it's more clunky. Less like open tabs and more like a Mac.
I'll use it, but not as much as I could have if it was integrated into the taskbar.

Windows Explorer now has a ribbon.

In case the sheer gravity of that statement didn't weigh in your mind yet, let me rephrase:

Windows Explorer now has features!

Hell you can now open command prompt IN THE FOLDER YOU'RE VIEWING by going to File>Command Prompt.

This is futur. This is Windows 10.

Overall verdict for Windows 10:

(Windows) 9/10.

It would be a 10/10 but it still has the "user trust issues" that 8.1 had, such as the almost cartoonishly complex methods one has to go to in order to give oneself access to certain folders.
Also, several elements are obviously leftover from 8 and definitely designed for touch screens. However this only docks a single point because almost ALL of the touch screen menus now have M&KB based equivalents, something that 8/8.1 did NOT have.

I just bought a Galaxy GeForce 610 with 1Gb of DDR3 for like $25.

My budget is like zero for a PC, so I bought the cheapest I could find.
