I had buckling spring keyboards back in the day before there was anything else. My 286's Model M lasted me almost five years.
Never had one quite like that though.

But jesus I would love to go back to that style of keyboard. If they had buckling spring boards in an ergonomic layout I'd pay over $200 for one in a heartbeat.

If you really think it's overheating and not the CPU what you should do is, if you have an IR thermometer use that and see how long it takes before it reaches critical temperature on the fly. You can also do the same with your hand or an electronic thermometer, but I'm thinking it'd be less accurate. Also pay attention to everything that's going on in a 5 minute run of your system to see what the issue is. You know better than us how your setup should be running because you're there.

I'd say the same as Bezombia if everything is fine with how the system is running though.

I'm going to wait until I get my Cooler Master EVO 12 heatsink before turning it back on again, and I'll see if it continues to happen. If it does I'm just going to RMA the CPU and hope for the best.

if that don't cool it down, nothing will.

I can comfirm this. I7 4790K playing Dayz Max settings only pushed it to 43 C was my average during 6 Hours 29 Minutes and 41 Seconds active. After I quit playing the temperature dropped back down to its standard very quickly. The fans RPM on the heatsink averaged about 712. Granted other factors effect this such as ambient, intake, outtake and just general hardware and space as well. I mentioned Dayz just to inform that it was under some sort of load and not sitting idle.

Can also confirm this. i5-3570K overclocked to 4.6 GHz with no intake or outtake case fans and the processor rarely goes above 70C during deliberate stress testing across all four cores.

EDIT: Although it should be noted that I added a second 120mm fan to my 212 EVO.

Does the second fan help alot? I currenlty have one exhaust and two intake 120mm.

It made a noticeable difference. Went from 80+ degrees to about 70.

That's my line of thinking as well, if that doesn't fix it it isn't a heatsink issue.

In other news, I'm now a software developer.

*adjusts hmd*

I wrote a program in C++ that displays your current IPv4 address and then writes your full ip information to a text file.
It took me two years and currently has over six thousand non-fatal errors in it but it's coming along nicely.

To give you some perspective, the older card had a 32-bit memory bus, and this was considered reasonably high end.

The new card has a 1024-bit memory bus. This means and handful of things that can basically summed up in "We're gonna see some serious shit."
