I'm aware of what Daemon Tools is. It just creates a "fake" drive in Windows and then adapts iso files to it.
You can't boot from a fake drive. If you want to actually install Windows 10 from an ISO you'll have to burn it to a physical drive (be it a DVD or a USB key or whatever) because your BIOS needs to actually have something to boot to.
I literally just created an ISO, mounted it on a virtual drive, and installed Windows 10 Release on my computer last night.
It definitely can be done. Sure, the rest is kind of black magic, but it can be done.
