I've been hooked on Among Us, especially given my region tends to play it almost every day together.

It is still the Nyalotha mission in WoW. Its 12 bosses are gonna drive me mad. I have been trying to defeat them for the last 3 weeks. To no avail yet :(

Been playing a lot of TF2 lately, it has to be my favourite game right now. Been playing Half Life 2 as well. I'm into the Fallout series (Fallout New Vegas and 3 are my favourite). Haven't played Halo in a while but might start to again when I get some free time.

Just picked up Project Wingman on Steam a few days ago.

Now I already knew from the get-go that this was an indie pure passion project by Ace Combat fans and for Ace Combat fans (or rather, fans of AC-style games), but I did not expect it to be this tremendous of an experience.

I actually feel a decade and half younger playing some of the campaign missions. I feel like I'm a little kid again in my room on a Saturday morning, sitting crisscross and playing one of the Ace Combats from the PS2 era "trinity" on my old Panasonic TV. But it's not quite the same either, it's more like the aforesaid experience but greatly amplified — like it's been cranked up to a level way beyond 11 or it's been put on some crazy mega-steroids.

I know it's kind of a memey analogy, but bear with me. Remember that sequence from Pixar's Ratatouille where the critic Anton Ego takes a bite into the ratatouille dish and feels like he's been instantly transported back to a moment from his youth where he's enjoying his mom's home cooking? That's what I think I might experiencing now, albeit instead of Southern French stewed vegetables, I'm experiencing it with a very specific genre of games that have to do with arcade flight combat action titles that are saturated with over-the-top anime-esque story elements. Wild, right?

I'm surprised I didn't get this same feeling I have now when I got Ace Combat 7, whose initial development delay years back - ironically - is the whole reason why Project Wingman was conceptualized and created — some fans back then didn't want to wait that long for Bamco to put out the next Ace Combat, so I guess they just upped and decided to literally make their own Ace Combat. And being fans of the series themselves, I'm not at all surprised in hindsight about how much time, effort, quality, and - yes - love they put into it.

One last note, I'm actually quite interested and excited to see how Project ACES - and specifically Kazutoki Kono himself - may react to the stuff in an indie game like PW that is clearly inspired from their work. Maybe they might see it as a passionate love letter to the genre they've been cultivating and to its small (but very dedicated) community. Maybe they'll view it as a wakeup call and see it as an inspiration to literally step up their game on future titles. Or possibly a combination of both and other comments/reactions, we'll see.

Recently picked up Pacer. Certainly a good modern take on the Wipeout games, but still doesn't hold up to Redout, unfortunately.

Throwing it back with some Metal Gear. Amid my free time away from work over the next year I'm going to chronologically replay the entire Metal Gear franchise. By chronologically I mean I started with Snake Eater tonight and plan to finish out with Rising sometime this summer or in the fall. And I mean every game, including the first pixelated game released in '87. (I have the HD collection. :p )

Heavily modded Terraria, post-Golem, contemplating whether to challenge Lunatic Cultist and subsequent Moon Lord, the problem is with all the mods I'm running there is just endless amounts of equipment to tryout so I'm looking at new things to add to my melee build.

With whips and chains
Just to see him fly
Too many died
We build a tower of stone
With our flesh and bone
To see him fly
But we don't know why
Ooh, now where do we go

Personally I use a quality build then branch out from there. If mods have stuff that make said build better then I swap stuff out. Havent played terraria in forever though, got my cool hoverboard and was like, this game cant get any better and stopped playing.

Last game I played was Pandemic: Cure edition. Its so much easier spreading a deadly disease than stopping one. We all know to increase infectivity while decreasing fatality and severity so people dont catch on as long as possible before buying Organ Failure, but the steps involved to catch it are a bit more nuanced than "Buy Cure". The logistics involved is frustrating and at the end of the day people can just say screw it and disregard all the safety precautions you buy.
