I'm sort of alternating between Neverwinter, Skyrim and Onigiri at the moment.

The Sims 3. Testingcheatsenabled da best, took Holly Alto as my second wife after my first one died (I was old already), then killed her after I got bored with her. All for the wealth, of course. Sad! But hey, at least I still got a Margaret Vaguester... which I then sold because my house didn't have enough space for a parking lot.

What programming languages are best for creating a tactical turn-based RPG? I want to make a game that is similar to Fire Emblem, mechanically. I don't care too much for graphics, as I probably will use 2D sprites.

Avoid python. I made a fire emblem text game and it was a pain to do and operated on abstract syntax trees. Yuck.

Since your going to be defining a lot a classes I recommend java as its a class oriented language.
