No, it's an actual laboratory. Google says that this image comes from a coronavirus laboratory (think SARS). I don't work on coronavirus, but I have been spending a lot of time in a lab (and a suit) much like that lately.

These suits are durable and easy to clean, as well as drop-dead gorgeous. Even our hair is 'haute': beautiful to look at, and I used so much hairspray that our coifs could stop bullets. Bullets of nearly all the most popular calibers. I've made sure of it. It was surprisingly hard to get Derpy Hooves to sit still modeling the test wigs, but I did it, and I'm so proud."

Xim, I've always wondered, what exactly is it that you do?

I'm a graduate student. My research involves Francisella tularensis, a Gram-negative bacterium which just so happens to be a Class A select agent and a Risk Group 3 pathogen. It is the dominant cause of all laboratory-acquired infections, or at least it was through much of the 20th century, and it has been studied as a potential biological weapon by the US, the USSR, and Japan (hence the "select agent" status). I'm studying its effects on the lungs (spoiler alert: if mice inhale it, they die; if you inhale it, you also die). A typical experiment involves using the awesome power of SCIENCE to destroy a very specific part of a mouse's immune system, infecting that mouse with a very precise amount of a goddamned biological weapon, waiting a few days, and carving out the lungs to do more SCIENCE.

I love my job.

So I love all dog breeds and I enjoy taking care of them. However, I just don't get how anyone can look at a regular chihuahua and say, "You know what, they need to be smaller, more nervous and more prone to aggressive behaviors." Thus the miniature chihuahua was born, the most pointless dog breed.

I'd love to, but I don't think a rocket with that onboard would fly with NASA. Or the Department of Homeland Security.

Awesome.
