Yeah, but Squats are bite-sized so it makes sense :p

There are really big Tyranids out there, capable of digging into whole Imperial Guard regiments without feeling even slightly bloated.

Hey guys, I've got an idea on how to destroy the Tyrannids and reduce hunger:
Why don't the Imperium just take as many Tyrannid eggs as they can find and make them into a big omelette, then feed their starving people with the omlette? If there's more eggs and hunger, they can just repeat the process.

I got the idea from here:

Finished building the Knight Valiant a little bit ago. Took about 2 and half hours I think.

When I got my Knight Errant, I went halvies on a Renegade box with a friend, and I gave them their half in the box with the instruction booklet without realising, so I spent hours building mine without instructions. Not fun, and I'm still not convinced I didn't mess up some tiny piece.

Also make sure to revive those slightly dried out paints. Keep your brushes in pristine condition for maximum painting efficiency. More primer!

I'm just getting into Warhammer 40K lore without having any experience with tabletop, only videogames and some wiki reading. What books should I read first? Should I start from Horus heresy?

Nah, save the Horus Heresy novels for later. They take place in the 31st millenium, rather than the 41st, and as such the vibe and world they describe is considerably different. They are also extremely human-centric, with alien factions playing almost no role whatsoever, something which is also rather different from the 40k setting.
I'd argue you should start with a series of novels that are centered around your favorite tabletop faction. For Imperial Guard, for example, I'd recommend "Gaunt's Ghosts", and for Eldar "Path of the Eldar".

There's also Crusade, the primer novel, which is designed to be the entry to learning about 40k.

My favorite factions/chapters are the Imperial Fists (Space Marines in general) and the Tau, do these guys have any interesting books?

I also like the Blood Angels and their subsequent factions (especially lamenters) and their affliction with Black Rage/Red thirst, and Sanguinius.

Also i finally began putting together the minis from the Dark Imperium box i got a few months ago (now more settled after having moved house, and have a dedicated place for this kind of stuff) and the fine cast models are gorgeous. They look sooo good.

Nice work! Is there a fluff reason why the cloak is stuck to that dagger, or is it just the way that miniature was made?

Thanks! It's the way it's made - the 'flow' of the cloak, so to say. It's a metal model, so it's a bit less detailed and precise in that regard when compared to newer stuff :P

Oh, that's nothing. I once bought 3 Leman Russes and a Hellhammer Superheavy all at once (that I couldn't afford) on impulse. Between January and April this year I spent around £500 on Orks and paints while in overdraft. I'm finally in a clear spell where I've managed to get back into positive financial figures.
