Have the Tau ever conquered a Space marine homeworld? I'd imagine they would just glass the fortress monastery since it would cost too many meatshields Auxiliaries to storm the place.

According to White Dwarf I think it was the Tau are also apparently getting a bit darker, I'm not a huge fan of them by any means but I'm curious to see what GW has planned.

So the blue cows are finally getting into the grimdark swing of things. Bout time. I was tired of them being naive space commies.

The Tau are better at making allies than the Imperium, though.

Diplomacy doesn't do much if no one else listens. They've made all the allies they can, here's the list of people they haven't allied with:
-The Imperium: Xenophobic catholic space nazis. Suffer not the traitor, the xeno, or the heretic. Initiate Exterminatus. The Emperor protects.
-The Necrons: Immortal, psychopathic killer robots bent on eradicating all life.
-The Tyranids: OMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM
-Chaos: Nurgle would infect them all with various plagues, Tzeentch would stab them in the back, Khorne would stab them in the face, and Slaanesh would do unspeakable things to the bodies, so no.
-The Eldar: Potentially the most promising. If they can get over the fact that the average Eldar's head is so far up their ass it wound up back on their shoulders, the Tau might be able to make an alliance with them.
-The Dark Eldar: ...On the other hand, this won't work. The Dark Eldar are on the Tau's kill list after the... cultural exchange incident, and even if they weren't, the DE basically combine the worst features of the normal Eldar and a hardcore Slaaneshi Chaos cult.
-The Orks: Combine Khornate bloodlust with Space Marine fearlessness and disdain for negotation, and you get what the average diplomatic discussion with an Ork WAAAGH! would be like.

Save for MAYBE the Eldar, none of these are particularly interested in actual diplomacy. Slaaneshi, Tzeentchian, or Dark Eldar forces might make short alliances (for instance, to fight a single campaign), but all of these would end in eternal torture, kidnapping, and backstabbing, in no particular order.

There are rumors of the Tau interacting with a species that might or might not be the officially Tyranid-devoured Squats under another name.

That's what the Lexicanum said as well, but it doesn't exactly mean they're back as a playable faction.

It means they're back from extinction at least. Slow and steady friendo, with any luck we'll get a new Squat army before the Sisters get something new.

Which would mean that GW is going to need to undo their previous drastic retcon of the Squats. It has been standard procedure for the company to boldly claim that the Squats never even existed, going even so far as to edit reissues of novels that used to mention the Squats.

They were never fully extinct. GW always left room for squat survivors as part of the imperium and IIRC some squat worlds did apparently join the imperium. There were also rules in the journal to use squats as imp. gaurd, which kind of took them back to how they started out in RT before they developed the lore about the homeworlds and the war engines for Epic.

Nope the squat character for nercomunda isn't a sign of reborn squats as anything beyond the possibility of abhuman guard units.

As for the demiurg thing, it seems they have made absolutely bugger all movement on them since BFG first came out so i doubt they will ever get any more fleshed out than they are.

It's more a reference to their Dragonball Z abridged than it is to their Hellsing Ultimate Abridged. If it were a Hellsing Abridged reference, I'd have tossed in something along the lines of "ya capitalist f**kbucket" to the end

From what I can tell from the lore there are a lot more Dark Eldar than craftworlders and Exodites yes? like Billions more. I know they don't use soul stones and operate on the principal that if you die and don't have the connections to be resurrected you deserved it so they don't care about population control.

I imagine any technological advancement shocks the Imperium, considering how bad their own tech is stagnated.

So I have the beginnings, for the fourth time...of a chaos force....fml. But I'ma do it right this time, I swear!

I have fifteen kakaphoni (which'll b noise marines, duh) on the way. I'd like to expand that to 3 squads of 10 noise marines with lucius leading, or at least a part of the army. Add in a sorceror or two, a sonic dreadnought or two, a contemptor dreadnought for sure (dreadnoughts and walkers are mah favorite in 40k, next to rough rider), and some rapier batteries (maybe like 2 quad heavy bolters, and two laser destroyers or something), and then fill in other stuff as needed. Like a raptors, bikes, etc. I know I want 3 squads of noise marines, and eventually a couple squads of regular marines, oh, and at least two squads of havoks as the core of my emperor's children list.
