In-game, Grots are as accurate as Guardsmen on their own and as accurate as Space Marines in large numbers.

Also Rebel Winter is a great book, I love Vostroyans.

Death World is great, and is in the same omnibus as Rebel Winter (or was, when I got it)

Edit: also Pandorax features Catachan, along with some hilarious interactions between the Dark Angels and Grey Knights

Agreed. If anyone should have gotten a new model in Fall of Cadia, it was him. Maybe have a triumvirate of the top 3 Chaos Warband leaders, Abaddon, Huron and Honsou.

Just add magnets, that way you can even change arms if you are so inclined.

What was the actual reason his arms kept falling off? Too heavy or a badly designed model or is it just some stupid fucking meme someone made up one day?

No. By definition, toys are intended for children. While children are encouraged into the hobby, it is only older children, and the target market is certainly not children, as the tools to assemble and prime the miniatures are not permitted to be sold to children.

Not by definition. Puzzles are toys, but a lot of them are too complicated for children.

"An object for a child to play with" is the oxford definition. Sure, it adds "typically a model or miniature replica of something." but that doesn't mean a miniature you have to assemble (and they wouldn't be permitted to, as I mentioned) it'd mean something like a movable Action Man or Barbie figure. And I don't know what you're getting at with the Call of Duty reference.
Sure, if you want to call wargaming miniatures toys then feel free, but they technically aren't, and some collectors (and "collectables" might be a better definition for the miniatures) find it insulting to have something they've poured hours upon hours of work into turning into a work of art called a "toy", as the word naturally belittles the miniature by comparing it to the aforementioned Action Man or Barbie figures. I am one of those people. So while you're free to call them whatever you want, and I certainly can't stop you, I would ask you please do not call them toys on this forum.

...It's pretty obvious that in this context I do, otherwise I wouldn't be arguing it. And specifically it isn't the definition, it is the use of the word.

"An object for a child to play with" is the oxford definition.

>Leaving out the other relevant definition
Intellectual dishonesty.

"An object, especially a gadget or machine, regarded as providing amusement for an adult."

Sure, it adds "typically a model or miniature replica of something." but that doesn't mean a miniature you have to assemble (and they wouldn't be permitted to, as I mentioned) it'd mean something like a movable Action Man or Barbie figure.

Army men. Toy soldiers.
And I don't know what you're getting at with the Call of Duty reference.

Not meant for kids, but kids still play it. Likewise, children still assemble Warhammer miniatures.

Another one: lego sets often come with a minimum age, but kids below that age play with them all the time.
Sure, if you want to call wargaming miniatures toys then feel free, but they technically aren't,

They are as the Oxford dictionary defines.
and some collectors (and "collectables" might be a better definition for the miniatures) find it insulting to have something they've poured hours upon hours of work into turning into a work of art called a "toy", as the word naturally belittles the miniature by comparing it to the aforementioned Action Man or Barbie figures.

That sounds like their problem, not mine.

Honestly, I don't see the issue with being associated with Action Man.
I am one of those people. So while you're free to call them whatever you want, and I certainly can't stop you, I would ask you please do not call them toys on this forum.

There's a lot of things I can't call things on NS. Can't misgender, can't say political nicknames, and can't spew insults. Calling Warhammer miniatures toys falls under none of these.
