Just trying to clarify whether or not rules still exist for it.

That's disappointing I always liked the smaller imp guard forge world kits.

Are the roll your own vehicle rules still about or were they only really a think when forge world stuff started to appear in 3rd edt?

There's always based China if you're not worried about buying unofficial kits. Shouldn't matter given that they're OOP now.

TBH I was looking at using these; http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y81/ma ... stlrdg.jpg

It heavily depended on whether rules still existed in 8th for the Salamander Scout which they do.

Fifty bucks a month? That is just idiotic. Better spend that money on miniatures, paint and other hobby materials!

Yep, seems only their top most expensive package allows you to image share which is what I've been using Photobucket for over the past decade or so.

Yerp. Industry speculation is Photobucket don fucked up, and has sacrificed most of their userbase in exchange for a few premium ratepayers.

I still have my old photobucket account. Sounds like it's time to check whether I care about the contents, and start transferring anything I want to keep elsewhere.

Ork Boyz are absolutely awesome as a troops choice. It is hard to whittle them down to where they can be affected by morale, especially if you bring multiple fat units. Because charging units go first, and Orks can get several methods of getting to it fast, they can make opposing units evaporate like water on the surface of the sun. Beyond that, Ork units in general are a bit better, but the real thing that makes 'em powerful are da Boyz.

It sounds like they're better balanced against other armies than they were in 7th, and get rules that work well with fluff and crunch alike.

Metal, they aren't gonna be here until Friday though. They're actually not beakies either, it's an original package of the metal Mark 1 marines from 89-91 or so. I've started planning out some Thunder Warrior conversions for some other marines I have laying around so I figured having actual Thunder Warrior-esque minis could probably help with that.

The oldest Space Marine model I ever had was this guy, who was basically one plastic piece:

From the 2nd Edition starter box.

Compared to the Primaris Marines, he is absolutely tiny. :p

I'd go watch miniwargaming. They have a special series revolving around 8th edition, the armies, hoe they fate in the game, and then their own thoughts about the armies.

I found (have not bought) some 28mm mammoths I have thinking of converting up with armor plates and gun howdahs to be counts as tanks for the guard and just totally building a new guard army up from scratch.

It would have 3 to 6 of the mammoths, at least 60 rough riders, and probably at least 100 infantry I'm guessing. If it sucks, oh well, it would be fun to convert and look good when done.

But but you have build and paint them all yourself. That's like the LAW...

You simply aren't allowed to play the game until you have sunk all your time into the other bits...
