It's not published stuff but I remember it coming up in one of the inquisitor taster games they ran in my local store as the reason the naked space marine had escaped his cell. Yeah the scenario was inquisitor band vs naked marine...

Aw, that poor inquisitor band... :P

Someone has done a summary of Rise of the Primarch here

Obviously this is all spoilers so if you want to wait don't read it.

Also you might need to scroll up, for some reason it can skip to the third and final portion of the summary.

Apparently the rumour mill I saying that 8th edition will drop sometime in June, and we can expect 'Super Marines' with MkIX or MkX Armour and will stand some two heads taller than a normal tactical marine.

As someone who has just started with my very first steps into collecting my Space Marines Custom Chapter and getting into Warhammer 40k tabletop as a whole (Nearly done with my 1st tactical squad, Woo!) this is really heartbreaking if true.

Of course it might be utter bullshit, so well just have to wait and see.

I really hope the cancer that is stormcast eternals doesn't come to 40k, but I'd actually welcome new edition - maybe they'll fix atleast some of the stupid shit from 7th.

So nearly finished my tactical squad. For special weapon I can't decide between flamer or plasma. I'm not interested in melta or grav.

Any recommendations?

Well, if you want them to kill infantry more, go flamer. If you think you're more likely to deal with heavy infantry like terminators or light vehicles then go plasma. Essentially, I'd recommend maximizing their ability to deal with 1 kind of enemy more than anything else or you're just wasting potential firepower.

Plasma. Marines, and everyone else in the current meta, already have a thousand ways to kill infantry blobs. Plasma will see you better against the inevitable MEQs and armored spam/flyers.

Not in the base game. But they did officially work with and support a modification that lets you conquer anywhere.

Personally, I won once as the Vamps by razing everywhere I couldn't conquer to the ground. It was probably a more satisfying campaign than the later one where I conquered every territory, because of the difficulty involved, and the evulz of seeing the entirety of the Badlands and Norsca reduced to ash.

Anything the Vampires do qualifies as evulz. The genocide of all Orks, Beastmen, Elves, and Dwarves was remarkably satisfying.
