Here's an excerpt I found from r/40klore:

The Word Bearers on the upper structures see him coming. They are kill squad strength at least, the best part of a full company. At least a proportion of them are the vaunted Gal Vorbak elite.

But they see him coming, and they know what that means. It doesn’t matter what cosmic dementia has corrupted their minds and souls. It doesn’t matter what eternal promises the Dark Gods are whispering in their ears. It doesn’t matter what inflated courage the warp has poured into their veins along with madness.

Guilliman of Ultramar is coming right at them. To kill them. To kill them all.

Even though they stand a chance of hurting him, they waste it. They baulk. For a second, their twisted hearts know fear. Real fear.

And then he has them.

And then he is killing them

TLDR:
It's never a good idea to piss off Big G.

Well, not all of them. Some Astartes hated Primarchs. Even their own. For instance, most of the World Eaters couldn't stand Angron.

Yeah, i remember in Galaxy of Flames when the Istvan atrocity happened the World Eater loyalists rushed him the second he appeared on the battlefield.

Which also, the World Eaters seemed to have the highest amount of loyalists per traitor legion, which i guess is understandable when you have that fucker as a primarch.

depending on the canon they either willing adopted butchers nails or angron forced it. Besides despite being my favorite legion the world eaters fucking suck. Even the Word Bearers have accomplished more.

The only reason the World Eaters rushed when Angron dropped was that they were still in a bloodlust from the nails. The Emperor's Children and the Death Guard turned and ran away as soon as he clambered out of the Stormbird.

I mean Primarchs are essentially demigods, so it makes sense. People didn't exactly line up to fight Hercules.

I thought the Death Guard were the ones with the most loyalists. Basically every single Terran in that legion remained loyal.

If you're under fire in the no-man's land of WW1, you start digging a foxhole even if the ideal time would be when you *aren't* being bombarded, because once you wait for it to be 'time', other situations will need your attention, assuming you survive that long. If the fields aren't furrowed, plow them. If the iron is not hot, make it so. If society is not ready, change it.

That would explain the behavior of so many NationStates General regulars, but to suggest that Astartes from the far future are interacting with us would be nothing less than heresy.

Literally only one turned to heresy, and apparently that was all it took to screw over the rest of them. Mortarion is still upset about it, supposedly.

Wasn't the deathguard's fault though. Nurgle is very good at what he does. For the world eaters though I follow the willing headcanon because why the fuck would angron care enough to force it on some astartes? There was no doubt a fuck ton of loyalists because "This mutilated Primarch just murdered half our captains! Is he even man or is he just beast?"

I wonder which Loyaist legion had the most traitors. Obviously the Dark Angels had a pretty big group on Caliban, though that was kind of its own thing.

The White Scars i believe had quite a sizable group turn traitor for a bit.

Other than Dark Angels I didn't even know any had traitors from their ranks.

I'm not surprised. The Traitor Primarchs even thought Jaghati might come to their side when the Heresy started.
