Tau can pretty much ally with anyone now. So if I want to ally with both orks and imperial army units, could I do so using two HQ choices?

Anyone can ally with anyone. you can also have an army of nothing by Ripetides too.

Opinion time! I've got/am getting bits for three predators for my marines. One will be triple las and one will be autocannon + heavybolters, but I can't decide whether I should make the third ons autocannon + lascannons or lascannon + heavybolters. Any insights?

You'll take autocannon and lascannon and like it because thats all there is. Silly modern players with thier weapons choices and having "options" in the kit

Personally, I'd choose the autocannon + lascannons out of the two simply because most of the things you're going to shoot a lascannon at will shrug off heavy bolter fire with ease (unless you deal with a lot of monstrous creatures in which case wound saturation is a thing...

Alright, though I'm really looking for where it say in the rules that you can ally with more than one army during play. So not just Tau and orks, but also imperial garde in the same battle on the same side.

IIRc they had deleted the turret and sponson spure out of the kit when they added the metal bits which came fairly late in my GW "career" but about the time i was spending stupid amoutns so i think i have a couple for my CSMs, converted with bits from the chaos rhino kit as the chaos pred kit wasn't out yet. That sort of thing happened to me a lot i would convert up a kit and the actual kit for what i was building would come out a month or two later.

Hah. I'm actually bidding on that version in ebay at the moment. Figured I'd get that one too since I already have both of the part metal versions - solved the loadout problem too.

Hypothetical question here:

You are a loyalist Space Marine. Your Chapter Master has just been killed by a Librarian who is under suspicion for treason after engaging in combat with AdMech forces and killing an Inquisitorial retinue. This Librarian grew a spontaneous mutation in mid-battle and used it to kill your Chapter Master, and you may or may not be aware that mutations have also started manifesting in among the other Marines suspected for treason.

Do you:

A) Kill the obvious Chaos-tainted newly-mutated psyker
B) Bend the knee and proclaim him your new Chapter Master because this is obviously the Emperor's will



If your answer was B, congratulations. You would make a great Soul Drinker.

I am not annoyed at that whole series of events at all, no sir-ee.

Its been a while since I've read that series, but as I recall, the AdMech pretty much deserved it... And that Inquisitor was a bit of a dick too...

Of course, it doesn't change the fact that I still would have put a bolt round through Sarpedon's (the librarian in question) head...

Yeah, the reaction to the AdMech stealing a Chapter relic is basically standard Marine protocol. The Interrogator thing is also justifiable considering he engaged Sarpedon in combat and died for it (even if Sarpedon really, really, should have submitted considering his forces were experiencing problems with rampant mutation).

What bugs me is the reaction of nominally Loyalist Space Marines to a Librarian of all things (you know, a psyker, the kind of person you watch extra closely for any taint) mutating and killing their Chapter Master being "that was obviously a gift from the Emperor, so you're our new Chapter Master now" before proceeding to unquestioningly kill any elements of the Chapter that don't agree to swearing in a Chaos-tainted mutant as Chapter Master.

Had a big game yesterday with a few of my buddies. The result? Tie after 6 turns due to one (1) feel no pain roll failed by one (1). The victory was right within our grasp, but alas...

So, what has everyone been up to hobby wise? I haven't had much time for minis unfortunately but I've slowly been painting a scout squad for my marines abd I hope to have it done by weekend since I have a game scheduled.

Got 80 lasriflemen that I'm crying to sleep over the idea of painting. Been a very slow process as I like doing details on those types of models.

I can understand the feeling. While not quote comparable I have 20ish scouts to paint which take way too much time for my taste because they have way too much detail.
