Someone must have an opinion of the game then?

I don't know... It looks pretty, but from what little information I've, seen the previews are somewhat mixed.

It's somewhat better than I expected.

Then again, I expected it to be complete shit, so...

We knew we couldn't make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders. raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Because I have a PS3 but it's such an effort to actually get it hooked up, even if "getting it hooked up" literally means just pressing a button on my HDMI toggle switch. Still a lot more work than just a couple mouse clicks to start a PC game.

The console starts up way faster than my PC, though. My PC takes like 5+ minutes to start.

But if that's considered a lot of effort, I'm amazed you had the patience to build your own PC.

That's your PC. I've timed mine. Just over five seconds from completely off to POST, about ten seconds after that I'm looking at my desktop, and five seconds after that it's completely done booting.

I'll time my PS3 in a bit. I doubt it can beat 5-to-POST/15-to-UI, though.

Well, you know, PS3s will eventually stop working due to hardware failure from factors such as corrosion and heat. So this is to ensure that people can still play games that they bought and own. I don't see any backwards compatibility on the PS4, do you? Shouldn't that necessitate the need for emulation? if anything, PC gamers regardless will be getting the last laugh as they will be playing your exclusives when you cannot 40 years from now. It's also self-defeating to argue exclusive games as a benefit of consoles. The games aren't exclusive because of a technological prerequisite that requires the capabilities of a console, but rather because of the demand of the host company to have a game to be exclusive as a desirable feature that sells, meaning that any console exclusive becomes little more than an advertisement.

Besides, I have no vested interest in playing PS3 games myself, I am just always excited to see any progress made in PC gaming.

If I had to point at it it would be the cultural differences between countries that play the game.

Games produced in Ukraine are notable for portrayal of women that can be seen as sexist to us Westerners.

The recently released game Metro: Last Light by 4A Games and the female skins for the free FPS game Warfare by Crytek Kiev are some of the examples.

My PC takes 10 minutes to get to the desktop.

My PS3 tends to take about 5-7 seconds for the boot-up screen and then 3-5 seconds to get to UI (if you count the login as UI). But again, that's my PS3.

PS3:
13.0 seconds to POST
29.5 seconds to UI

Took even longer to actually sign in to PSN. Not to mention the whole "Press the PS button" and having to navigate a cluttered UI to do anything.

I counted UI as as soon as you see the actual XMB appear on screen.
