Purity Ring-Shuck

I'm gonna go with a 7. Decent synthpop but nothing really incredible. Though they're more musically interesting than CHVRCHES overall, but I do enjoy some of CHVRCHES songs more, even if it is just because of the vocalists singing.

Kacey Musgraves - Silver Lining

Last day/artist of my challenge. :)
I normally can't stand country music, and the few snippets I've heard from this artist doesn't give me any hope that I'll enjoy this, but I thought the lyrics to one of her songs were interesting.
In other words, I'm going with this as my last one for the challenge since it's the complete opposite of what I usually listen to. Should be interesting...
EDIT: Well damn, this is a good start.

About the only country song I like is Hurt by Johnny Cash, and I'm not even sure if that counts as country like his older.

Everything these days on the radio seems pop oriented. The country I hear these days (I live in the country, so yeah) just sounds like rock music with the country twang, and commonly very poppy rock music at that.

And then you got the rock music that just sounds like pop rock...

Everything's just so pop-oriented and it's getting kinda old.

Mum-Sing Along

You are so beautiful to us.
We want to lock you in our house.
So beautiful.

You are so beautiful to us
We want to keep you as our pets.
So beautiful.

You are so beautiful to us.
We want to lock you in our house.
We want to eat you with our spoon.
We want make you sing along.
Sing along

Another song that pretty much sums up the hypocrisy of owning pets sometimes and makes me think about that whole thing. And just the whole thing with owning pets and loving one like a dog and eating another like a pig, who are both equally smart to each other.

I mean, I know these people who talk about how awful it is these places eat dogs, like some of these Asian countries (I know, not all of them. I don't want to go with that stupid stereotype), and even some places closer to home. But they'll just go grab some bacon and cook it on the stove like it is no big deal even though both animals have the same intelligence levels.

It's all because we associate one with our pets so it''s awful but the other one is a farm animal so it suddenly is okay. I think it is just hypocritical to be honest.

The funny thing is me, as a wannabe Vegan, will probably be more likely to be willing to eat something like a dog than my meat eating family who will probably think I'm somehow awful for doing so.

If that day comes, the outrage I will cause on my Facebook page shall be fun.

I agree.
Though, I don't mind popish albums if I can find them enjoyable, even if they're not super-creative.

The album I'm listening to now is more country than pop imo. And I'm really enjoying it...god my musical tastes have changed a lot.

-snip-

Yeah...can't imagine that going over well on Facebook. :p

There are so many times I want to post political stuff on Facebook, but being the hardcore socialist that I am, my Conservative Christian church "friends" (on Facebook, in RL they're my parents friends...I'm only friends with a few people on FB that I can actually call 'friends') would go ballistic at some of the material...so yeah, I just don't post that stuff (or anything else really). :p

Kacey Musgraves - It Is What It Is

And that concludes my challenge. :)
The results: found one artist (and album) that I like out of the seven I listened to this week; one was meh, the other five were horrible, I don't hate country music anymore, and my passive dislike for pop music (in general) and pop culture has evolved into an outright hatred...
:meh:

They post themselves eating steak. And their dog killing a opossum and talking about it being such a good thing. I can do the same thing!

The outrage would be hilariously hypocritical.

Seriously, I'd be tempted to actually post a picture to SEE the outrage that would occur from it.

...I'm such a great guy.

Eh, people rarely respond to my stuff. Maybe I'm lucky. And the people who do are friends who agree with me. I just got to the point where I don't really give a shit if I offend people. It's my profile. If they like it, they like it. If they don't. Tough shit :P
