I am apparently just going on a massive synthwave/retrowave hunt today, and massively expanding my backlog in the process.

Now that I can once again listen to what the hell ever I want it's time to start digesting my backlog. Gonna start with synthwave, namely the new Perturbator EP, followed by that synthwave/black metal thing and Carpenter Brut's live album.

The new Foo Fighters sounds a bit...prog metal?

Edit: I know it isn't really metal before you all rail on me.

It seems this thread is the proper location to ask my question in.

Anyway, I heard this song recently. Some of you may hear it regularly, have heard it recently, some time back, or very long ago (since there are people of the older kind on the forums), and I found that it was a kick-ass song that I now practically have stuck in my head. It is Magic Man by Heart. The instrumentals are extraordinary for as much music as I've heard, along with the excellent vocals from Heart and an interesting subject (opinion :meh: ).

You listen through the whole song, you get into a certain mood, some might think it's a good song that they'd listen to, others may think it's a good song but not their taste, and others may just not care or not like it because reasons. However, I want peoples' opinions as to whether they think the vocals at the very ending don't do the song much service after that (perhaps?) wonderful journey or not. Maybe it doesn't bother you at all? :?:

Huh, didn't expect for me to like that, but I liked it a fair amount.

All seems fine to me.

It's not possible to keep score of everything. Example: a few days ago I bought a Therapy? album, named Disquiet, whose existence was unknown to me until I found it in the bargain section of a local record store. Also bought the album Death Magic by HEALTH, also a title I didn't know anything about, because more music is more fun.

Anyone have thoughts on the Sonemic beta?
I haven't been on RYM in months and noticed the beta was up for the new site, but it's not wanting to load for me. :(

It will take some time to get used to it once they go full launch, but I think it's pretty slick. Lots of cool features.

Heart is good. I might start listening to some of their albums. I really like the vocals in Magic Man, not to mention the guitar. I could do without the synths but they fit I suppose. I'm not bothered by the vocals.

I am still very conflicted between getting CD's or not. Part of my environmental loving self would rather continue to go 100% digital so we stop wasting stuff on tons and tons of stuff like CD cases, other parts want art. And newer cars don't even have CD players anymore, they have MP3 players. Not that I'll have a new car in the near future at all, but still, that would likely be the main places I'd even listen to CD's, since otherwise I mostly listen off of Spotify (Though CD's may still be better quality), and I could still be giving them a tiny ass amount of money while also owning the CD. Also physically you can actually show your music collection better.

So...I dunno.

Protomartyr's new album, Relatives in Descent, is out. It's great, although not quite as their last album, The Agent Intellect.
