This is really nice (female-fronted neofolk duet)

The song wasn't on YouTube so I had to upload it myself. Nostalgic melodies hitting me in the feels.

Niiiice.

Also expected since you posted it, you would have rated the album higher. One of those things where one song is better than others?

Pretty much.

I loved that song and "Samarkand" but the rest was kinda samey and not much to write home about. Pleasant, but not as memorable as those two highlights.

YouTube's global recommendation system has struck again, this time with one of my favorite albums. It usually happens to calm music so this was an interesting change.

Makes me think of Wardruna. Dunno if any of you know Combichrist, as the singer appears to be from that band.

The most misunderstood genre in existence; top results anywhere you go are really heavy music, in reality most of it is sugary and happy.

Back in the eighties and early nineties, there was a mix of speed metal riffs and thundering hardcore punk rhythms that was also known as speedcore.

I really like Julian Fanes Darknet but finding the lyrics online has proved to be an impossible task, does anyone know or at least have a rough draft on what the lyrics sound like?

New Street Sects song sounds great

Seems like they won't be a one trick pony. Which is good. With new bands, I always worry about them sounding samey.

FM Attack has a new album coming. I'm not exactly thrilled but I'll probably listen to it anyways. I love their first album, the second one was a huge disappointment. This can't be worse but I don't have high hopes for it.

Random questions: What is your least favourite music genre? And what are some of your favourite genres?

My least favourites would probably be (western) classical or metal. I'm not a fan of rap either, although that is mostly because of the lyrics of most rap rather than the style itself.

My favourites would be Kayoukyoku/Ryuukouka (early Japanese folk-pop), Enka, various Asian (including Japanese) traditional genres, NK-pop, city pop, chiptune

Is that...North Korea pop?

And I tend to like a bit of everything, but there are genres that are usually harder for me to like. A lot of pop I don't like, but there is also a lot of good pop as well. Hip-hop is a hard one for me, though. Same with punk genres, but I have been digging a lot of post-punk recently.

I don't think I have a definitive favorite genre anymore. It was post-rock at one point, but that kind of dwindled off.

Yes, that is North Korea pop! I really like their style. It's very retro, like a combination of 1980s and 1950s music.

That's true, but at least they still make good music! The 50s-80s were great eras for music, at least to my personal tastes.

Favorite: Hardcore/breakcore/speedcore, dnb, trance, garage.
Least favorite: Wouldn't know since I don't listen to things I dislike enough to judge them. :P
The genres I haven't been able to enjoy at all are jazz, soul, funk, and a bunch of other acoustic/vocal stuff.
