I was kinda surprised that Despacito was going to hit 3 billion when I saw it. I barely know of the songs existence and here it is hitting 3 billion? At least it is neat to see world wide music getting so big on YouTube with little care, even if Despacito sounds like every Spanish song ever to me.

Edit: Holy shit, that song came out THIS YEAR and is almost hitting 3 billion? What the hell.

The fastest video to reach 2 billion was ''Sorry'' by Bieber. 394 days. Despacito did that in 154. That's amazing and all but it's actually kinda sad... It's a second Gangnam style. It's going to sit up there at 4-5 billion views for several years until something catches up. At the current rate, it's going to reach 5 billion by November.

The most viewed song I actually like has 200 million views.

I think the song I like with the most YouTube views is "November Rain" by Guns N Roses. 823,131,945 views as of this post.

And I haven't watched or listened to Despacito, so I haven't contributed to the views.

I'm not sure what's the most viewed song I actually like. The one Trollgaard mentions in the above post has 351 million views but I'm pretty sure there's a bigger song I like too

Always been my go-to for music. Gotta deal with the occasional copyright strike nuking of your playlist, but you live with it.

There's some great 80s music and there's some meh 80s music and there's some crappy 80s music. I like 80s rock and some metal for the most part (some of it's kind of bland but eh) but I don't like most 80s synth pop. Not like MJ or Madonna, those are classic, but I mean more like Video Killed the Radio Star or You Spin Me Round. It just seems very cheesy and stale. That being said, I much prefer overall 80s music to most of today's mainstream music.

I know some of the 80s music are cheesy or low quality, but at least the artists were using their actual voices compared to the mostly auto-tuned stuff of today.

If I have to name something good that happened to me, then it is where I have identified a lot of 1980s songs that were stuck in my head, yet until now I did not know the title or artists, nor the lyrics. From Madonna to Estefan, from Atlantic Starr to INXS.

80s music is great, though I listen to more Japanese artists than western ones in that regard. I do like Madonna.

One of my favourite genres is Bubblegum dance, which is more 90s. It's the epitome of dancey happy music and I definitely think 80s synth pop music have had some influence on it. Anyone who has ever played DDR knows it!
