New The National

Seems more politically charged than normal, but I guess that's not all that surprising. Lyrically I don't think they've ever really been that political, but as a band they've done Planned Parenthood fundraisers and such, so its only a natural evolution for them in the current climate.

Seems pretty good honestly. Their last album I only really liked one song of...But this is good.

Surprisingly, here's some prog that I don't hate.

This is the Ozric Tentacles.

⚧ Trans rights. ⚧
Pragmatic ethical utopian socialist, IE I'm for whatever kind of socialism is the most moral and practical. Pro LGBT rights and gay marriage, pro gay adoption, generally internationalist, ambivalent on the EU, atheist, pro free speech and expression, pro legalisation of prostitution and soft drugs, and pro choice. Anti authoritarian, anti Marxist. White cishet male.

I first encountered them when I spent an afternoon listening to Vitamin Enhanced a few years ago while working in an Oxfam shop, but forgot about them until today.

They're pretty much a clash of Space Rock, Progressive Rock, and Psychedelic Rock. I've only listened to one album but I need to listen to more

New Mogwai album and first single

They're kind of past their prime (Their last album only really had one good song, which was severely disappointing as I loved the first single), but this song is not bad. Still not overly standard like a lot of post-rock (Again ignoring their last album which sadly was kind of bland)

His death has been ruled a suicide

The only original grunge vocalist left of the big ones is Eddie Vedder :(

You know, I'm way more fucking sad then I expected to be. Jesus Christ. Soundgarden is probably the one I've listened to the least out of Pearl Jam, Nirvana, and Alice in Chains so far, but I'm freaking sad still.

Adding to the RIPS. Soundgarden was one of only two grunge bands I listened to frequently and influential in my childhood. My aunt saw them just a few months ago.

Grunge was never really my genre. I had to suffer through the whole movement in the 90's. Still, Soundgarden was one of the good ones.

Of course, being Washington, about 2 stations played nothing but Chris Cornell related stuff all day, including KEXP. Which being KEXP, went real obscure and even played some random punk band he was apparently in.

Not even Alice In Chains? They're basically a metal band and Dirt is essential.
