The shitty aspect of the Grammies is by design though. Music is an incredibly diverse medium, so to pigeonhole genres and blatantly ignore entire musical subgenres for the sake of commercialism just destroys any awesomeness the Grammies might have had.

Their system of rating an album "The Best of the Year" seems to consist of "Oh, look, the latest Lady Gaga hit. BEST OF THE YEAR!". Obviously because it is the latest big name Taylor Swift album, it is the best country album of the year.

If I got a Grammy, I would be like "Should I really be honored about this?"

I remember watching a Pearl Jam documentary where Eddie Vedder (I think) said that his one regret about the Grammies were that he didn't start a fight.

To me yeah, but more because of nostalgia than anything else
Though I will admit Down on the Upside and Superunknown are the only Soundgarden albums I still enjoy because I find the rest of their stuff kind of boring now.

Listen to their song "The Letterbomb", and you'll see what I mean.

Someone brings up the mention of something a member of Pearl jam says, and suddenly this turns into a pointless competition of which grunge band is the best?

Yup, that's the Internet for you.

Is an emotional listening experience for me to such an extent that it's difficult for me to bring myself to listen to anything from it but only certain songs (sucks being a teenager at times, doesn't it). Guess you could say I'm a bit of a Coldplay fan. :p

I generally dislike Coldplay as a whole, but Mylo Xyloto was actually a fairly good album. If I'm correct, it's supposed to be a concept album/rock opera.
Plus it was produced by Brian Eno. I like his stuff, especially Fripp & Eno. :p

I think each of their albums got better than the other. And they're new song is certainly promising for their future.

First song I heard was "Panic Station" by them on the radio, and I didn't like it. I picked on it. But I started to hear more of them and decided I actually liked them musically, and then it just grew from there and I started tolerating him.

Everyone's least favorite album by them seems to be their new one, but to be honest, I think that one is them at their finest. They seem more musically interesting and creative, and they feel like they hit a milestone with their sound. I personally find it to be their best. People just want them to sound the same. I like a band to evolve their sound and they're certainly doing that.

Neck Of The Woods is seriously awesome, and after I get tired of it, I'll start listening to The Singles Collection. Cannibal is, of course, great.

Y'mean "Panic Switch"? "Panic Station" is a Muse song. I'm guessing you liked Lazy Eye, then?

By new album you mean Neck Of The Woods as opposed to The Singles Collection, right? I love Neck Of The Woods. It's so good.

The one I heard that started to make me actually dig the band was The Royal We, I think. My dad played it and was like "Of course the radio cuts out all the cool parts". Think he heard it on the radio and realized he started to actually dig them. And so did I.

Yeah. I don't really listen to Singles Collections.

But really, I re-listened to all of their albums recently, and each one seems to get better.

I'd only listen to The Singles Collection leisurely, if I felt as though I didn't feel like listening to an actual album.

I don't feel like ranking their albums, but if I had to, it's likely be chronologically- Neck Of The Woods first, followed by Swoon and Carnavas.
