Same here. I mostly go to listen to various songs that show up on there. And it plays better than my YouTube lately. But I might find other uses for it later.

A lot of stuff I listened to lately to get an idea of what this bands new material is like have popped up on there lately.

The REAL Glasers wrote:Beck's new effort is pretty solid. Hoping new Sun Kil Moon is going to live up to the hype.

I like it but not as much as Sea Change, the album it ties into, technically.

Honestly, as much as I'm a Sea Change kinda Beck guy and that new album was definitely solid, I'm looking forward to his other material (Where Defriended and such will be) more, even if overall I may end up not liking it as much.

And new Sun Kil Moon is out. It is great. Anthony Fantano gave it a 9.

Or, do you mean for you personally you hope it lives up to the hype?

One of my friends gave it a pretty high score and he doesn't hand those out often. I've heard a lot of buzz about it too and it got a 9.2 in Pitchfork so it seems like it's going to be pretty great.

Kyuss needs more love. Speaking of Josh Homme, Like Clockwork is honestly one of the better albums I've listened to in a long while.

I gave Like Clockwork two listens and I still can't get into it and understand the huge love people have for it. I gave it a 6/10. Though I bumped it up a bit the second time I listened to it. I just can't get into it.

Keep Your Eyes Peeled is the main song on the album that generally doesn't just bore me. I can see what they were going for but the rest just bore me. None of them are bad (Hence it being rated above a 5), just not interesting enough for me to give it a high rating.

Like Clockwork was pretty solid, but I think the hype from it being a Stoner Metal album kind of bumped up its rating for a lot of people.

I enjoyed it because of how alternative it sounds compared to most alternative rock these days. It took a while for it to grow on me, but it happened.

I guess me (and my dad) are just in a minority with this one.

Same with Random Access Memories, though. My dad and I both found that album boring and everyone else seems to love it.

But Keep Your Eyes Peeled is a superb song, despite me saying this. I could listen to that one on repeat.

I thought Random Access Memories was fairly good, but not nearly as good as most people thought. And certainly not Album Of The Year (should have been GKMC, damn it!).

I think I gave it a 7.8/10. I need to listen to it again though, because I think that might be a little too high.

I gave it a 5, but I think that's too LOW. Because there are 3 songs I like quite a bit. Which are the 3 without really any vocals...

The robotic vocal style just really bores me for some reason.

IIRC, my favorite song was Give Life Back To Music, but I don't remember much about the others, other than that I thought Get Lucky was a horribly overrated song.
I'm listening to this album now...this is more boring than I remember.

I find the vocal style interesting, but not that exciting.
EDIT: Okay, on one of these songs, it's extremely annoying.

Good Kid MAAD City shoulda won, I agree. It's incredibly underrated when it comes to lyrical themes and story.

Indeed.
Though, after coming across an article that explained how the Grammys have a history of snubbing hip-hop, I'm no longer surprised.

RAM was a weak album. Even the best songs were pretty much "mall background" music for me *shrug*
"Mall background" as in, I didn't really like them but I can listen to them on the background when I have no other choice.

Though it is one of the better charting pop songs. But I think CHVRCHES charted and that may be my favorite actual charted stuff.

Wait, Lorde. Nevermind, Lorde would top mine for charting pop stuff.

Obviously it isn't my favorite pop stuff altogether, since my favorite album last year was a pop album.

My electronic list is 265 songs, 232 of them are retro wave. If you count ambient/dark ambient, my electronic list is 546 songs. Of course, not all of those are 5/5 but still.

Incredibly underrated? It's one of the most critically acclaimed rap albums of the last few years last time I checked.

That doesn't make it's not underrated. It got good critical reviews but its importance and value are underrated.
The travesty at the Grammys proves exactly that; there is no way in hell The Heist should have beat GKMC for best rap album.

True, though unfortunately the general public still makes a big deal about it, so the Grammys are still significant even though they're shitty.

Fuck LA was on the deluxe version I believe. I listen to the standard version first before I decide to commit extra time to the deluxe, and honestly I wasn't impressed enough to listen to the extra tracks from the deluxe version.
