My song of the year, also from my album of the year.

Overall, from the albums I liked, I'd probably go:
3. Pixies - Head Carrier
2. Mouses - The Mouses Album
1. PUP - The Dream is Over

"Militannia the Eternal"

Nations have risen and fallen like waves in the sea
Such a fate will never befall our mighty country
For the strength of our leader,
the strength of our people,
the strength of our military will NEVER falter
and will NEVER become like the calm sea!

Our Rise
Our Ascension
Our Conquest
Never questioned
For we are immortals!

To Militannia
the Eternal!

What good songs do Europe have besides Final Countdown? I've been low-key craving same catchy 80s AOR recently.

My song of the year, also from my album of the year.

The song is alright, but that's a really neat video.

Oh god, not the Final Countdown.

Edit: I've never really been a fan of the song, but I think what really ruined it for me was this awful cover

Edit 2: Oh Jaysus my ears.

Clearly I don't trust Last.fm, because I saw I was using the "Beta version of the new Last.Fm", and my immediate response was to say "Oh god, what are you guys fucking up now?"

So the game that my sister, my dad, and I have been playing a lot recently, Starbound, has a pretty neat soundtrack. Its not super unique, but its done nicely. Well, there are moments that are more unique.

Looked up the soundtrack...and holy shit, its 6 1/2 hours long. Apparently some songs are really long for a soundtrack (Or, a typical soundtrack, as I know my fair share of soundtracks with long songs at this point).

I was on this planet (Because its pretty much a 2D space game with a shit ton of stuff to build and collect, which for me is always a terrible mix because I want one of everything), where it was raining toxins and the core of the planet was pure toxins, plus whatever other weird waste and whatnot, and night time came and this song started playing and just yes.

I missed this one but I really like Rock the Night. I actually prefer it to Final Countdown, because Countdown is so goddamn overplayed.

Another great songs from that album are On the Loose and Love Chaser. Not Supposed to Sing the Blues from their 2012 album Bag of Bones is pretty good too. Haven't really listened to them much besides these two albums.

The Final Countdown is actually my second favorite album from 1986, only second to Pleasure to Kill. If going just by the score, the two would be tied :p

Do you have a favorite band that is different from your preferred genre?

For example, I really like Gorillaz even though my favorite genre is trance.

I like the Cowboy Bebop soundtrack despite not liking jazz.

I believed that for a long time. I usually said metal when pushed to pick since that is what my dad likes and I grew up around it.

I mean, at one point I was post-rock obsessed, but I haven't listened to a single post-rock band in months. I really can't pinpoint one thing I prefer anymore.

Right on with having a dad that you grew up with metal with, though. Same with my dad. Though oddly I favored mellow music for a while before intentionally forcing myself to get into metal. Nonetheless, I still grew up on Faith No More and such and legitimately liked it.

My dad was literally a metalhead in high school, too.

He also likes pretty much anything, though.

Well, he also really likes Crux Shadows, which I think is trance, and I remember liking them as a kid, so they're probably what got me into trance.
