It was, yes.

I am familiar with the argument, which you apparently support, that Skyrim is inferior to the preceding two. I do not know enough to make an informed judgment.

Anyways, I play Skyrim on the PC, and I use quite a few mods for it. That being said, despite playing on Ultra-High quality graphics, I've begun to look into EnBs to make the game look even prettier. I've basically narrowed it down to Real Vision EnB and Project EnB. Does anyone have experience/opinion on which one is better, before I download both and go through which is better?

Well, it's just that the only really original thing in Dragonborn is the dragon riding.

Stahlriihm was introduced in Bloodmoon. Apocrypha was mentioned in Battlespire if I remember correctly. Those mushrooms are everywhere in Morrowind. The Rieklings were also introduced in Bloodmoon and were hinted in vanilla Skyrim to be related to the Falmer.
All of those do not nearly compare to the near-endless amounts of mindfucks you find in the deeper parts of the lore.

Yeah, if Morrowind is half as weird as it sounds I'm gonna get it if only for the strangeness

To be fair, Dragonborn did give a pretty good taste of Solstheim weirdness, even if it wasn't completely original.

Also, how do you pronounce Solstheim? Solz-time? Solst-hime? Solz-thime? Solstheim Bergowitz-Greenbaum?

Bonus points if you get that last one

There were things I liked about Skyrim, and things I disliked about it. They were just so... blatant about real world connections. It doesn't take much brainpower to realize the Nords are based on Germanic and Nordic people, Imperials on Mediterranean (Greek and Roman), or Bretons and Britons. But in Skyrim, they practically just made it Rome vs the Germanic tribes in a fantasy world. No differences whatsoever.

I remember the first time i played that quest, i said to myself, "this is not going to end well for me is it?", and then begun one of the most memorable moments in skyrim.

Then that random guy appeared to me months later demanding gold because i apparently dared him to run into a bandit base and steal their leaders hat when i was drunk, well he did not get gold, but steel instead.

Ahh... Skyrim. Lovely experience it was. Although I was more enamored with Oblivion, as it was my first Elder Scrolls game. Looking back though, I have a hard time deciding which one I like better.

I never really liked the idea of being Dragonborn. I prefer just being some regular schmoe. So I say Oblivion had a better main story. But then Dawnguard came out, which had a better story than Oblivion and the main Skyrim campaign.

What was your favourite part of the civil war? One of the parts I liked the best was when Balgruuf threw his lot in with the empire. He's quite possibly my favourite Jarl.

IMO he's the only Jarl with flavour in Vanilla. Except for the two in Falkreath. And if I remember correctly (Which I may not), did he not end up throwing his lot in with the Imperials only after he was attacked by the Stormcloaks for trying to stay neutral?

Yeah, because he didn't want legionnaires in his city imposing martial law, and possibly because he didn't want a heavier imperial presence squashing out the unofficial Talos worship going on.

I don't like to do the Civil War questline. It's hard to pick a side. On one hand, the Empire is in shambles, and they aren't doing a very good job managing Skyrim or dealing with the Dominion, plus, I've always been a bit of a fan of Sovereignty. On the other hand, the Stormcloaks are basically just xenophobic militia men, and with the Empire gone, Skyrim would probably fall to the Dominion anyway. Plus the Empire is in good standing with me from Oblivion. Ive only ever completed it once, and I did really like Balgruufs speech on the Empire's side.

I know. Strategically, the Stormcloaks made a huge mistake attacking Whiterun, because not only did their attack fail, but they lost the city's neutrality, and along with it the massive strategic and tactical value to the Imperials.
