I liked both of them a lot but preferred Dragonborn more, antagonist was better and the story was a lot more interesting for me, as were the environments, also the stalhrim is cool as hell, especially the death brand armour.

Level 72 Nord, reporting for duty.

Eruidisia wrote:Which DLC did you guys like more Dawnguard, or Dragonborn?

Dragonborn, though I gotta say, I was a little disappointed with Miraak. It was a great setup, going up against a (depending what type of alignment you go with) darker version of yourself. I wanted more interaction with Miraak, learn his backstory, where he came, how he discovered he was Dovahkiin, and what series of events and thoughts drove him down the path that he went. It could also cause the DB to stop and realize that they could end up just like him if they weren't careful, The Last same as The First.

On top of that you don't get to kill him, Hermaeus just pops up and kill-steals, the lovecraftian sone of a bitch.

I'm considering returning to using two-handed weapons. I had this ebony battleaxe with me when I was escaping the Cidnae Mine with the Forsworn, and swinging that beautiful thing around once we escaped the prison and I decided to turn on the murderous insurgents felt great.

With those who did the escape from Cidnae Mine, which way did you pick? I originally went with helping the Forsworn out because it was easier, but then I went back and did it on my own since I figured taking out the leader of the Forsworn was better for Skyrim's peace.

I went with the Forsworn first time around, because fuck those sods for throwing me in prison, but then the second time around i went against the forsworn because the first time i was still attacked by them even after i helped their leader escape, but half of the nords with me died, including their leader (silverblood i think is his name?), and also because every time the forsworn escape at the end of that mission they kill the facking orc smith and some other merchants at the market place in front of the gates, so no, no more help for you.

I just punched a hole in the crazy geezer's face, took his key, and zoomed past the Dwembots (that's what I call dwarven automatons)

Oh forgot about that, there are a few times where i kill him in his cell but its a nightmare due to the magic the guy uses and because i haven none of my gear, so i will wait and hit him in the back once i get out of the ruins.

When I helped the Forsworn escape they seemed to just kill the Silverblood chap and any guards in their way, before getting to the gate and staying there. They'd be shouting death threats at...somebody only they could see, I suppose, but didn't go out the gates. They didn't attack me, even after I started hacking up their friends with a battleaxe though. But I liked the ring reward I got for killing the Forsworn leader instead of the set of enchanted forsworn armour, since I do more smithing than wearing moose heads.

Yeah for me they always killed the smith, occasionally they would attack people at the meat stalls but it was just annoying having a valuable and interesting character gone, because orcs are awesome and her replacement is just a piece of wood basically when it comes to taking to him. And yeah the ring is pretty useful as well for smithing.

In regards to the attacking thing i just meant general forsworn, i said to myself right, i rescued their leader and his friends from death so now they wont attack me on sight right? Nope, which annoyed me.

Oh, I get what you mean now. Of course, King Ass-hat warns you that no part of the Reach will be safe from the Forsworn now, but apparently the Forsworn at Druadach Redoubt are friendly if you help Madanach.

I went against the Forsworn, the orc's berserk ability is a little overpowered in my opinion.

Skyrim

Postby The Mega Clown » Wed Jan 22, 2014 10:05 am

Personally, I don't think Skyrim was bad at all. Obviously there are those people out there who constantly say Oblivion and Morrowind were better. I can agree with Morrowind. But not so much on Oblivion. Oblivion was great and all. But it was laking the feel that Skyrim and Morrowind gave me. I can say Skyrim is the easiest Elder Scrolls game so far but that doesn't make it bad. I am pumped for the Morrowind remake on Skyrim's engine. If you liked Morrowind i recommend it. The project is called Skywind and it is a mod for Skyrim on Steam. It's not finished yet but so far. It looks fantastic.

Meh. I prefer for them to use resources to make a new game, I want to see Black Marsh. Also, I miss the Oblivion persuasion mini game. :(

Cool, a Skyrim thread that happened a day before I actually wanted someone's opinion on something.

Anyways, I play Skyrim on the PC, and I use quite a few mods for it. That being said, despite playing on Ultra-High quality graphics, I've begun to look into EnBs to make the game look even prettier. I've basically narrowed it down to Real Vision EnB and Project EnB. Does anyone have experience/opinion on which one is better, before I download both and go through which is better?
Where must we go, we who wander this wasteland, in search for our better selves?
In Egypt's sandy silence, all alone,
Stands a gigantic Leg, which far off throws
The only shadow that the Desert knows:—
"I am great OZYMANDIAS," saith the stone,
"The King of Kings; this mighty City shows
"The wonders of my hand." The City's gone,
Nought but the Leg remaining to disclose
The site of this forgotten Babylon.

We wonder, and some Hunter may express
Wonder like ours, when thro' the wilderness
Where London stood, holding the Wolf in chace,
He meets some fragment huge, and stops to guess
What powerful but unrecorded race
Once dwelt in that annihilated place.

Level 33 redguard, as long ad we're talking about characters.

Dragonborn is better than Dawnguard. Seriously, Solstheim is so weird. It's like the devteam got high durin the brainstorming session. Magic ice ore? The very concept of Apocrypha? Giant mushrooms? Little blue goblinoids? RIDING FUCKING DRAGONS? Throw it in.

Level 23 Argonian here.

Dawnguard is sooooo much fun. I love killing Vampires, and I liked the part where you met the last Snow Elf. Dragonborn was a really cool idea, letting you visit a whole different land and technically country, as you are in Morrowind. The House Redorean armor is really cool looking. I can't say which is best, really.

I have one critism, and that's the races in the game. In Oblivion, there was a lot of people of every race. Here, it's mostly Nords. I hope in the next game there is more people of different races.

I did that in Dawnstar. Killed every non-needed character. It's now one big ghost town.
