Playing as a Dunmer Battle Mage and have done so for awhile finishing the main quests and all. Any suggestions that might change up game play? I'm thinking about ether doing a Breton warrior specializing in heavy armor, one-handed weapons, and block or an Orc specializing in heavy armor, two-handed weapon, and smithing. Not sure which to do but if you guys have any suggestions please feel free to shoot any ideas.

Just wondering, what difficulty do you play? I can understand the sentiment if you play low difficulty, but if you play high difficulty (master/legendary), you would know the value of block. It keeps you alive in combat, especially if you play sword and board style, or even 2handed.

The higher your block skill, the more damage you can block before your shield (or weapon) is knocked out of the way and you take damage.

I even go out of the way to take my chars out and "toughen them up" by finding a dual weilder NPC and use shield in one hand and a heal spell in the other hand (with a flesh spell on myself) just to level up block, alteration, restoration, and the appropriate armor skill.

Ouch that hurts especially since Dunmer are in my personally opinion one of the better races out there (although that probably depends on your playing style)

Pretty much although I'm a fairly casual gamer so I don't normally venture into the extremely difficult levels. I almost feel that the easier levels make it far easier to be magic user however since the higher level destruction spells are pretty over powered on the lower level settings. I'm currently at level 45 and so far it's not hard to one hit a fairly powerful foe with one hit. I'm currently using Incinerate so maybe that's the case but I'm not sure.

It would, however, be hard to one hit said foe with two hits. Still trying to do it. Someday.

Well the games would have had the needed climax now would they. Talos is really the only mortal to become a god in actuality Martin just became the vessel through which Akatosh propagated himself through in order to fight Mehrunes Dagon.

You NEED to use block on high difficulties. It's quite useful.

Bosmers are always pretty, though I do have a personal soft spot for the Dunmer.
