Because it's not just about poniponiponi. It's about bronies, and what our perception of things around us are, things like that. The census is basically, "What is a brony?".

I got done with the survey. I think only 10 questions had anything related to do with MLP, the rest of it was questions I could've filled out on OKCupid.com. I hope this is the last time the Heard Census people have a college help with the survey, it was too long.

I would guess that the point isn't to find out who your favorite pony is, so much as it is to get a good understanding of the demographics of bronies. That requires a lot of questions which may or may not seem boring or tedious to you.
