I know its a little off topic, but why do so many people make fun of Nascar and its fans? I don't get it.

*sigh* As a NASCAR and Stock Car racing fan, I'm honestly tired of that joke. I grew up around the sport, my brother was a go-kart racer and then a Mini-street stock racer (he raced an old Mustang LX). Trust me, the sport is more than just going around in circles. The real race begins in the shop where mechanics set up the car for the upcoming race weekend, they also set up the back-up car in case the first one wrecks out during practice or qualifying. They set-up the cars to be loose, sitting on the edge of being too loose and hard to control, because in racing loose = fast. All of this is done to a car that has 800 raw horsepower.

So imagine that you're in the Coca-Cola 600, the longest race on NASCAR Sprint Cup schedule, the shop set up your car for the weekend, you and your crew chief spent Friday and Saturday fine tuning the car during practice. You've qualified well, (top 15) and you're set to race. It shouldn't be that hard right? You're just sitting in a car for 4 hours. Haha, no. As this video points out, your average NASCAR driver's body go through though physical conditions as it battles against the G forces of the turns, the extreme heat inside the car and the extreme heart pumping action. Reaction time must also be top notch because you're racing with 42 other drivers and your reaction to any wrecks ahead of you has got to be lighting fast. This video points out just how fast a driver's reaction time can be.

So Stock Car racing is more than just "going around in circles", it's a very complex and very demanding sport that all happens at 200 mph.

This is the perfect example of what I was saying earlier. See that big hair over the forehead? I think this would look much better if that was shorter, more over the head that out front.

Well to be fair, they can't avoid the subject of love, romance, etc. forever. I think they'll handle this pretty well. But sooooo many fanfics of MainXAnything are about to be sunk, it's going to be delicious.

Wow, you're kind of an ass sometimes. Quite why you'd take so much glee at somebody's hard work being destroyed is beyond me.

I think they did the part in Best Night Ever, when Rarity was flirting with the prince, it was well done. And so my question is... WHY RARITY AGAIN? I would love to see an episode where Fluttershy tries to get the attention of a boy. Or Twilight, she would use book knowledge and ask her friends. Or RD, which tries to be too cool.

Rarity is the easiest straw you can put into a romance and this is my problem.

Hardly, it lasted 2 seconds and she found him such an arse she never spoke of him again.

Because the writers of the fanfic had to know, even on a near subconscious level that their works ran the risk of being invalidated by what DHX establishes as canon. Honestly I wouldn't even get so much amusement out of it if I didn't already know what the outcome of this episode is going to be. Mainly bitching, whining and gnashing of teeth. Also considering in the past that DHX had received death threats from members of this fandom over controversial changes to the show, I'm not really all that sympathetic when the show ends up invalidating a few fanfics.

Well you are correct my good sir, I do apologize for my earlier youthful glee.

If it's any consolidation to writers of ManexAnything fanfics, I doubt it's going to last more than one episode, so they can easily write their way around that.
