In regards to Equestria's economy. Filthy Rich's story from when he was giving his talk about how Barnyard Bargains rose to prominence indicates a Capitalist Equestria, or at least partially capitalist.

Oh yeah. Equestria is capitalist, but it has to be different compared to RL modern capitalist economy.

Surnames are dubious in MLP. We are not sure what the ponies' last names are. The show seemed to never talk about them in great detail. The closest we have is the Cake family and the Apple family, those might be last names.

Princess is such a clichéd title. If Shining Armor and Cadence rule an empire, they should be Emperor and Empress. I know Celestia and Luna were supposed to be Queens, but Hasbro rejected that idea.

If "Apple" were the Apple Family's family name, you'd wind up with names like "Applejack Apple", "Apple Bloom Apple", "Apple Strudel Apple", and other such names which are unbearably repetitious for the names of an entire extended family. Pinkie's last name isn't "Pie", she just has three names.

If we take Baby Cakes episode as a basis for how ponies typically name their offspring then that means RD's parents named her at birth.(unless of course she changed her name)
Just let that sink in. Her parents named their child Rainbow Dash.
I have to wonder if she became aggressive because she had to be to deal with the flak she would have received for a name like that.
