There's currently 12 issues, and there are a number of fans who do like it.

It is however mildly-moderately darker than the show at least with the first 8... There are currently 12 out with 16 total planned initially.

There's twelve issues and a micro series, it's generally pretty okay. You can get a free pdf of the first issue online, that should tell you whether you like it or not.
