"Say Yes"
Things I hated.
The Romulans moving the goalposts on their deal. I really hate these pricks.
Rosita being a snippy bitch all episode. This stupid plan is gonna blow up in her face.

Things I liked.
Pretty much everything else. Rick and Michone's little roadtrip was the closest this show has come to slapstick comedy, and I love it.

Except for Rick's incredibly obvious fake death, yeah, it was good. I don't like the garbage dump dwellers either, in fact, I think they feel out of place for the series as a whole. They look and act as if they walked over from a "Mad Max" movie.

Rosita seems to have taken over from Father Gabriel as "character who whines and does stupid shit that endangers everybody else".

Episode played out rather predictably, but I still rather enjoyed it.

Morgan gonna whoop some Savior ass soon. Staff ---> Spear

Also, I expected Carol to have a stronger reaction to learning of Glenn's death...they've been friends since the very beginning.

Another "set-up" episode (these last two better be epic payoff), but at least we got that nice moment between Maggie and Daryl, and finally some of Rosita's backstory (meaning she's dead soon?).

To be fair, the revised plan was a lot better. In fact, it should have worked but the idiots didn't have the patience to wait around for a proper shot. And if they'd gone back, they may even have resolved that shooting through Eugene could work (um, bad luck Eugene, I guess) assuming they still tried to break him out... and Sasha didn't suddenly decide it was her time to die.

On the other hand, I am not necessarily convinced that killing Negan is the end of the issue. There is a hierarchy in place, after all.

The episode could have done more to fill us in on what was going on elsewhere. The Enid/guard scene wasn't required and we could easily have had a more interesting beginning and fewer attempted hotwirings.

Finally got around to playing the first 2 episodes of season 3. Verdict so far is a big MEH.
Aside from Hardass Clem, these people suck.
Javi is bland as white bread.
Kate is a whiny stoner, with a crappy romance plot attached to her.
Gabe is mood flipping little bitch.
Tripp is pretty obviously Kenny 2.0
And they off the only good character at the end of episode 1.

What annoys me about that episode is that it proves the writers are able to have multiple character plots in one episode. Think how much faster the plot would advance if more episodes were like this?

On the other hand, I'd rather just have only one episode on some kind of conflict. Protracted fight scenes can be quite boring.

Yup, although I do hope they change things up and try a new style for the next season.

Although I suspect that there will be more deaths this time around, with the big one being Sasha.

We have a tiger.
Lucille is irrelevant.

I wonder of the scavengers will still be on Negan's side, or if they decided both of them were a bad investment.
Also, at the end, was Rick not in a bed? He was shot, and Michonne was just beat up. Sheesh.

While it wasn't quite the settle-everything grand finale I've been anticipating all season, it was still a good episode - definitely one of the best this season.

1. Loved the Sasha walker popping out and pinning Negan - we almost had a Walking Dead finale without any walking dead.

2. Maggie's voice-over at the end was fantastic, tying all past seasons together nicely. Loved the homage to my buddy Glenn.

3. Carl owes a life-debt to that damn tiger

Looks like the real war starts next season.

Spoilers man.

But I was also wandering that about the Scavengers. I find Jadis quite the intriguing character. No way anyone will make the error of trusting them again though. They're pure mercenaries, it seems.

I wouldn't really consider Sasha a B-lister. She's been one of the main characters for five seasons now.

But I'm with you in that I kinda wanted the whole Negan thing to come to a conclusion tonight one way or another. But it looks like that "build-up" will continue into Season 8. We do know one thing though - Rick will be the one that kills him.

I thought it was an enjoyable and tense episode. Not quite the payoff I was hoping for, but it wasn't infuriating like the season 6 finale and leads up into season 8 quite nicely. I think the writers wanted to play it safe after the huge backlash from last year.

Totally called Sasha's death, but that death could be seen from miles away. I'll miss her on TWD, but I think she'll be a great lead for Discovery.

Eugene proved himself to be a cowardly turncoat, although there's still the chance he's playing the long con with Negan. We'll see where this goes in the next season, but I have a feeling that Eugene is doing to die.

We can assume that Maggie took control of Hilltop, but they never showed what happened to Gregory. Did he go to the Sanctuary? He'll also be a goner in season 8. Either Maggie or Negan will kill him.

I was convinced that they were going to surprise us with killing Michonne, but thankfully that didn't happen.

Shiva! Seeing that fucking tiger maul a couple of Saviors made all of season 7 worth it.

Nobody is going to trust the Scavengers again, and they have a target on their backs now. I doubt things will end well for them.

Looks like season 8 is going to be all about the war story from the comics.
