It looks cool, but it's far from practical.

I'll have to get me one of those Emperors, that's a cool car.
I've mainly been using my Buffalo, it's a nice car (and it's RL equivalent, Dodge Charger, is my dream car :D ).

But at least with a car, you don't fly out of the vehicle when you smack into something.

Why is it that there are so few players in this game who can use the fighter jet effectively? I have a 2.75 K/D ratio because of all the kills I get in the jet. With the jet I have absolutely no problem taking out tanks and buzzards. It's massively OP.

I find it tricky to fly. The controls are more sensitive than a regular plane.
Haven't flown one for any period of time that lasted more than 5 minutes though. I should practice flying one in singleplayer.

Potato, potato.

Next time we're both online I'll grab one for you and you can practice flying it. Then strafe the highway if you want. Maybe we'll eventually get you up to hitting a Titan. :p

Heh, well I grew up playing Ace Combat, so Arcade/Flight Sims are a cinch for me I guess. The flight controls are definitely oversensitive. But that can actually work out to your advantage when you need to make tight turns to avoid missiles.

Yeah, never really played flight games when I was younger. :p

Duh. A fighter plane's going to react more to input and be more agile than regular aircraft because that's what it was designed for.

I just fly around in a Titan or one of those other prop aircraft. I want to improve my flight skills but it doesn't seem to work. Plus, it's usually the safest when it comes to having a bounty and a lack of other players with aircraft.

Flying around in the biggest, slowest, least agile plane there is, not to mention the biggest and most sluggish vehicle period? That's safe? Against people with homing missiles?

A Titan is the last plane you should be flying to improve your flight skills...stunt planes (or even private jets) are better for that.

Does improving your flight skill bar actually impact how you fly in the game? You're either good at flying airplanes or you aren't. It isn't going to get magically easier if you get to 100/100. For that matter all of the skill bars are virtually worthless except for strength and lung capacity. One way I suggest to actually improve your flight skills is to complete the flight training school in single player mode.

Most of the people on the lobbies I'm on don't have fighter jets. Most of them are usually content with shooting one another or doing random shit, like fighting over bulldozers.

Might do.

You're either good at flying airplanes or you aren't.

Well, I can take off, land and fly really really low to annoy people.

Yes, quite noticeably imo. It makes it easier to deal with turbulence. Might do some other things as well, though I don't remember.
Your skill level (in all categories) certainly effects the ease of doing things in my experience.

Plus, whether your skill is 0 or 100, you're gonna be shitty at flying a plane in any video game if you've never flown one before, or not often enough.

The flight skill bar does nothing other than offer a faint incentive to fly more. Increasing it doesn't unlock any special abilities or give you more capabilities when flying. That's the point I was trying to make. I know that skills from single player don't transfer to multiplayer. The reason I suggested that he do the flight training in single player is because it's actually great practice and the best way outside of playing other flight games to become a better virtual pilot.

I like it because it's easy to land and take off in. And it isn't affected by turbulence as smaller aircraft.

I used to use motorcycles a lot more but ever since I got that phoenix I started using cars more, I can stop them, get out the door and use them for cover, its a regular strategy for me.

Earlier today some dud called a mugger on me totally unprovoked, I killed the mugger put a $9,000 bounty on his head, he called mercenaries, I killed them and then he put a bounty on my head, first time I've really dealt with a mugger or mercenaries, I took the merc's car, I thought it was cool, it's mine now, with that and the free rat loader my garage was full so I sold my old Hexer, but now I got a more useful four door vehicle, recently made those bigass tires bulletproof after an incident with another player, I still won but driving away was a bitch with half the tires blown off :p

Motorcycles are dangerous! Especially if you have my driving skills. Give me a bike and I'll go super fast, swerve two dozen objects, and then right at the end, I'll hit a lamppost or something.

And I was supposed to be on the ground, but it gave me a choice to switch...and...I switched. I would have had your sneaky little car but you kept swerving. One time I blew up like three cars right next to you and you still survived! At the end, I was going to low that I considered to go kamikaze on you but I changed my mind and crashed into a electric pole or something on my out. But magmia still got you!

Oh, and the other missions where we stole the plane, that was awesome. I kept circling around wondering whether to land or not, and it was pretty intense 'cause I was afraid of crashing. Finally, I landed, got out, killed people, and then moved the plane to the end of the runway. But Magmia and the other guy parachuted out too early. They should have waited until I was on the runaway...But it was still a nice mission.

Frankly, I didn't trust the other guy with to drive the plane, I sure as hell didn't trust Magmia, and you, Wisconsin9, left on a motorcycle. Anywho, we need to do more crazy money missions. Potshot, Crank up The Volume, Base Invaders, Crystal Clear III, some Madrazo missions, some Lester stuff, and pretty much anything that pays over 7k. 'Cause I want money! To buy a Buzzard of course. They stopped spawning for me. :(

I left on the bike because I've done that mission before and I knew we'd need someone to clear the runway. I remember one time I was doing it with only one other guy and he was a fracking idiot, I ended up just landing the thing, barreling past the enemies on the runway and stopping right at the yellow thing. Instant Win Condition.
