Its not a bad name, It's just not something you name someone. Also it's a Douglas Adams Reference. In one of the Dirk Gently Books, the main charterer decides that the weather doesn't deserve to be called weather and calls it Stanley Instead.

I need to read Dirk Gently when I finish up my current readings.

That is no excuse. You should watch them both at the same time. With multiple screens. There is so much British comedy, you're going to need more than just the one desktop monitor. You know that big thing they had in Batman, where he radio-ises the phones? Like that, but each one showing a different program. It's the only way you Americans can be truly educated. *nods*

They killed the First in a roundabout way, so that's a nice nod back, and they were the Second's main enemy. Eleven takes a lot of inspiration from the Second, and I'm fairly sure Matt has said they're his favorite monster.

That said, they probably won't come alone. They might be who the Doctor fights at Trenzalore, but I get the feeling that the Silents or Angels will be about as well.

You should really go try and watch some other episodes than. I recommend City of Death or the Key to Time Arc as good starting points.

Since the revival I'd agree.But personally I think they improved over the course of the original run.
