How much of it did you watch? If you gave up on it early on, you should know that from what I've seen of it, the quality has gone sharply up of late. Basically, once Tarkin and then Vader showed up, it got pretty cool.

Hayley Atwell (Agent Carter from the Marvel films and TV series) has declared her support for a female Doctor and said she'd like to play the role.

Not the worst choice I can imagine, though I still lean towards Michelle Dockery as my top choice for a female Doctor.

And I think there's enough support for the idea of a female Doctor that, presuming the show continues for long, it'll probably happen eventually (although in a way it already has, with Jenny). The article quotes Moffat saying that the next Doctor might be female. I'd say the odds are about fifty fifty (possibly coming down to weather the BBC executives feel that its worth the risk of a backlash from sexist and pro-status quo fans).

Probably depends on how the second season does and weather Marvel feels they can connect it advantageously to any of their other projects.

As for the reaction to Missy, from what I've seen its been mixed, which is to be expected. Personally, I feel that Gomez did a decent job playing the part but that Moffat's writing was... wanting. But I don't object to the concept of a female Master in theory.
