That show did do something right once or twice.

I'm sorry for all those who forgot it and wished it never to be mentioned again, but I'm going with Love and Monsters.

^^^^ Love and Monsters. By Far or that one where the Doctor goes to see the mountain made of diamond and proceeds to find out that one of the passengers is possessed.

It wasn't all completely bad, just mostly dull and occasionally infuriating. But this is in retrospect, having started at Series 5 and Series 3 simultaneously (BBC America's schedule is weird).
How can you say you detest series 2 yet pass no comment about the abysmal series 3?

Nat: Night's always in some bizarre state somewhere between "intoxicated enough to kill a hair metal lead singer" and "annoying Mormon missionary sober".
Swith: It's because you're so awesome. God himself refreshes the screen before he types just to see if Nightkill has written anything while he was off somewhere else.

Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS.
Like, I can watch Love and Monsters and think "Well, here RTD was trying to be cute and fucked up" or "OK, I see, he just wants to be silly for the kids".
But I watch Journey and all I can think is "WHY WOULD YOU DO ANY OF THIS, YOU UTTER MONSTER?". It is an inexplicable, hateful, wretched piece of fury-inducing trash, full of pointless and nonsensical plot points, unlikeable protagonists, and needless conflict.

I actually liked Series 3 somewhat decently, until the end.
By no means is it the best, but I think it was RTD's best overall. Series 1 is maybe better, I don't know.

What puts me off the most about Series 3 is the fact Martha has no chance to develop as a character of her own as she's constantly reminded how she's "Not Rose", Then you have that awful Dalek story and John Simm's shitty master.
Shakespeare code and it's cringey Harry Potter references.
The best RTD series is 4.
